Here I am on my photography account.I only post what I like. There are many images I've done, where I'd never publish.
Thank you I will pop over and take a look, have a lovely weekend.

tandi I agree with you and no one gets 100% likes and love. That's not debatable. I however wonder why say it doesn't matter in the first place. Just my tism coming out I guess.😬

I loved your photography BTW. I'd prefer it if more people liked my work but if no one likes it, it wouldn't stop me having fun creating something. If likes and loves are the only goal it will really hurt if people don't like your work after you put effort into creating it. It's best to be more relaxed over others not liking and loving your work, and that's why I think someone said it doesn't matter, because they enjoy what they do and likes are just a bonus, though an FPI would be icing on the cake on here :-)

ClickMore 📷 no, that’s not how my take on it works. No matter what I do, I won’t ‘like’ my own photos, I don’t have that relationship.

I think, like many others, I am now happier with more of my work that I do now than I used to be and do occasionally produce the odd shots that I absolutely love, but I have to say that I am constantly blown away by the work that others share on here and find it not only humbling but inspiring…I love the creativity people show and am just a smidge jealous at times and wish I had the vision and ability to meet the same standard. I am still in search of my “style” and still eager to learnany tips and tricks I can to improve…especially on the post processing front.

Yes, but always room to improve. That's what makes photography, for me, such an exciting hobby.

Unfocussed Mike same as me. I don't think there's actually a single photo I've produced that I like.
I think it's probably because I always feel that I should and can do better 😬
I do, on reflection, like some of my photos. But it's my photography I don't feel I like -- if you see the distinction. Not enough cohesion, not enough direction, not enough purpose. I don't know why I do it anymore. But my biggest problem is that I don't know why I do anything anymore.

I do use mood images as a starting point but want ideas to develop with the model's ideas playing a major part.
On your other point, I post images so that when I ask a model to shoot with me she can see what I do and either accept or run away screaming.
But also, for some strange reason I see the images differently from when I look at them in the folders on my desktop.

I find you do some work that you're really pleased with and put it onto PP and get little response.
It used to bother me but no longer does.
This is a future group post for me, but I'll ask you here; I would love to know why people post on a networking site or social media platform, if it's ok that nobody likes your work. I ask, because it's not compulsory to be on any of these places. If it's to get bookings, then potential models, photographers need to like the work. If it's just to post, then it's more confusing for me.
Regards 🙏🏽

I post because I like to post but as I said it comes back to whether myself and the model are happy with the images. Thats the important thing to me. I know others like my work and sometimes they don't. I know models want to work with me because of my work and some don't. Its swings and roundabouts.

I do love my own photography that's not to say I think my photography is the best ,there's always room for improvement. If I didn't enjoy my photography I wouldn't be shooting. I would also add I probably wouldn't attract models to shoot with that I want to shoot with , whether paid or not.

I would imagine that taking a models photograph and being responsible for creating something they will appreciate, let alone others will like or love could be very stressful. It must be energy sapping for a photographer, creating the concept, communicating all of that to those taking part, booking the venue and everyone else, then often meeting total strangers and trying hard to create a positive working vibe so the model feels so relaxed and comfortable that they can create their best work
I love doing the whole process, as I was thinking I'm a control freak. However I also find it all very hard work when I am doing: wardrobe
Make-up
Hair ( sometimes)
Styling
Photographing
Editing...
I have not shot for over a year, because I find it increasingly difficult to find models who know how to model, which is a skill. I shoot myself because it's somewhat easier.

To love your photography you have to be your harshest critic. That way you can learn and the love the images you create.
Definitely.
But it's not easy for many to be objective towards their own stuff. Hangups and insecurities keep knocking on the door.
