Be honest- Do you love your own photography?

Unfocussed Mike same as me. I don't think there's actually a single photo I've produced that I like.
I think it's probably because I always feel that I should and can do better 😬

As a hoby photographer, I know due to some nerve damage and memory loss due to a motorbike accident and my present situation of caring for my mother, that after a shoot I am happy
to have any images, I normally arrive stressed and rushed as just getting out the house is hard, I use the portfolio to compare the images and I do see some improvements but also some
shoots do go a bit pear shaped nothing to do with the models they have all been perfect its me, but am I happy with what I post the answer is yes, I have never been to workshops or read books but from the start till now I can not think of a better hoby

Overall, I feel I've gotten to the point where my photos generally don't suck, and I am very pleased with some specific shoots or images.
Yes, I'm very aware there's a long way to go, but I'm mostly satisfied with where I am given the work I've put in.
"Love". on the other hand, is far too generous. I think I've made perhaps a handful of photos that I love.

To love your photography you have to be your harshest critic. That way you can learn and the love the images you create. There are many photographers who don't really even like their images, as they are careless, don't think about composition, or edit to make the images look good. More in love with showing everyone they can take photos of boobs and bits.
There are many photographers who don't like their images for other reasons, like me.
So your mission should be to do something about it. Don't compare yourself to anyone else.

I am on a journey and have been for the last two or three years to create a lot of specific things and if my plans work out, may have months, not years to get most of them done. I am as much motivated about developing the ideas as I am about specific images. For the first time, I feel I am regularly hitting the look and feel of what I am trying to achieve, I just have so much more to do in not much time
I am very happy with most of my stuff because it is mostly fitting the requirements of my journey. Literally no stone is unturned and I am looking at all the aspects as being fundamental to what I am looking to achieve. Have I got everything right or how I envisaged it, well obviously no, but a lot I have, even if it has taken several goes, which is all part of the journey.
My biggest obstacles to overcome in months [not years] are caused by a lack of suitable models, finite funds and time available .
I don't have the time or interest to worry about whether the general population likes my stuff or whether I should change to please them [that would be a massive mistake]. There will come a time where I have no choice but to think completely differently about any model photography but I will worry about that when the time arrives.

Just keeping my camera and lenses. The work from others I admire so much now, was taken with just that: a camera, a captivating model and a great eye with vision/feeling.
The photographer, model or subject and the camera are the three most important aspects in capturing an image. The other stuff, like equipment and unnatural lights I feel can only help, once you can master to a great degree, the ability to capture the vision/ feeling without much thinking.

I always feel like Alice (in Wonderland) looking through the tiny door that she cannot get through but can see the beautiful garden beyond. The vague ideas in my head that are never clear, don't produce what I think I am trying for.
Do you keep your ideas in your head for a shoot, or do you ever use mood boards?

I find you do some work that you're really pleased with and put it onto PP and get little response.
It used to bother me but no longer does.
This is a future group post for me, but I'll ask you here; I would love to know why people post on a networking site or social media platform, if it's ok that nobody likes your work. I ask, because it's not compulsory to be on any of these places. If it's to get bookings, then potential models, photographers need to like the work. If it's just to post, then it's more confusing for me.
Regards 🙏🏽

Not bothered by FPI's, far too inconsistant image quality between pictures accepted
I don't think the image quality matters, because it's all Subjective

It would be nice to see you photography account, please can you post it may help others to understand why you have asked the question. Possibly it would be nice to hear whether you love your own photography as a photographer and model
Here I am on my photography account.I only post what I like. There are many images I've done, where I'd never publish.
I love my work and each shoot is a lesson. I've made many mistakes on sessions, where I have a vision in my plans, but I mess up actually executing it on the day. Technically, I definitely need to improve, but it's a journey I'm glad to be on.
As a model, I am always learning posing. My expressions have been halted recently, because I realised that my difficult life lately is showing in my modelling. I need to address that.

Criticism is such a strange phenomenon. It's just words, but they can almost traumatise us.

Was the question, why bother being on here or social media if a creator doesn't mind people not liking their work, because if the creator is looking to get bookings people have to like your work??
Someone will always like something a photographer or model does, but they don't have to like everything. If a model is paying a photographer then the photographer doesn't have to like any of the models work to create something for the model. Same as if a model is paid, the model doesn't have to like any of the photographers work they are professional enough to do their best which will hopefully help the photographer improve.
I'm not here to sell anything or be paid for anything, I only post on here, but not on social media and though I would like everyone to like my pics I understand that there are far better pics to like here. No one liked Vincent Van Gogh's work during his lifetime but that didn't stop him from painting. Before you ask I'm not comparing our work of Van Gogh's, I'm simply saying that you should always do what makes you happy, even in the face of criticism or dislike of what you yourself like creating.
