I was gifted a bit of the moon a while back from one of my kids. It's official.
Not worth as much as a spoon, unfortunately. Not as practical.

tandi I'll say it's a scam (sorry)
Not necessarily a scam but in almost all case it turns out to be so.
Generally approaches out of the blue to a photographer are "Spend £x creating a NFT for each of your pictures using this specific service, and I will buy the token from you for 2x " (keep in mind the NFT isn't copyright, isn't the picture, but is record of who owns a set of bytes, so who would want the NFT instead of a print, or a licence to use the picture)
Then having spent the money, the person disappears, and you realise the con was getting you to pay to mint the token with them
Like many of these things hold onto your money until you're certain you understand what you're buying and why.
(after typing that I see Unfocussed Mike said much the same)

Thanks Mike - my feelings are that NFTs were a brief flash in the pan a few years back but have mostly sunk without trace?

Didn't someone loose an almost-Muskesque[*] quantity of money on an NFT of a monkey.

Honestly I think they never really made a lot of logical sense; the few notions around transferrable benefits were all so limited they could have been implemented with other mechanisms. They were always, ultimately, a way to legitimise crypto, certainly once the Bored Ape stuff kicked off. But they did make a few people extremely rich, and one or two of them, like Beeple, arguably deserved the opportunity. (Though exactly how much Beeple actually managed to cash out, who knows)
