Hi to all, just a question about some competitions, do people actually read and understand the theme, as some photos have no connection at all, like the last one it's a CAT'S life, a cat is a fury 4 legged animal very cute in most cases, yes I entered it but only 7 votes so hay-ho never mind that's life not bothered but please try and submit photos that do actually relate to the themes.

So you lot out there decided to vote the winner a human? something wrong there, come on you lot understand what the themes of the competitions are then the choices would be more interesting  and the winners would actually win what the competition was meant to be.

I voted for the winner. I thought it was an imaginative interpretation of the theme rather than being predictable.

She is dresses as "cat" woman, and it's a pretty good good pic!

I think a mix of the competition votes is: does the image fit the theme and is it a great image.

I've seen far worse entries.

Plus it is just a fun game ....

It is based entirely on your own take and interpretation of the theme. Everyone can interpret the theme how they like, and everyone will vote for what they like—or, in most cases, forget to vote, but that’s beside the point.

You don't want to know what happens when they have a cat competition and it's NSFW   ;)

I thought the entries were pretty much on topic compared to normal...

The guidelines do actually say "It's up to you to interpret the theme and either submit an existing image or get your thinking cap on and shoot an image specifically for this competition", so if people want to interpret the theme as including Catwoman I don't see why not.  It's still a lot better than todgers that randomly appear in many of the NSFW competitions!

Can someone get a consolation trophy for the sore loser here?

I thought it ironic that the "loneliness" competition was won by the most popular entry...

It's a cat's life, not a cat. It's an idiom. People can have a cat's life. You don't have to say a cat has a cat's life, it's a cat, it's alive, it's too obvious for comment.

not a sore looser at all but it is my opinion that the theme should be followed a bit closer to the title as it seems in many comps there are some shots that come no ware near the theme, take a closer look, yes it is up to the people to interpret the theme as they wish but as I said some are ridiculous and have no representation of the theme, just my opinion.

The rules are very clear: it’s up to you to interpret the theme, i.e., you post anything you believe encompasses the competition title. It’s not literal to the letter—this is art, not mathematics :-) its about imagination and inspiration :-)

That sounds complicated. Could you go into more detail, please.
