We should be helping each other, not hurting each other

As I have a photographer account here also, I hear models ranting.
They are interested but with so much harassment on the dMs, they get put off and ultimately switch off from participating in groups.

MaristarOxley , I have no idea why MM was incapable of noticing banned members trying to sneak back in, but we're pretty good at it, and the community has an uncanny ability to spot and report them to our lovely Admin, too.
"That's so interesting to know. The way it appears on here, it looks like most models are doing nude."
As Virgil said; "Trust not too much to appearances."

Afrofilmviewer getting involved in conversations can bring you to people you may find you would like to work with. It has worked for me a few times throughout the years I've been on here. You have I imagine a sense of whether you would want or not want to work with me, but someone may need a model like myself or anyone else and being in groups can expand on people you will know about.

Sensual Art I do photography as well, so do know a fair amount of models

Michael_990 give general advice on modelling not specific to an individual or a portfolio and you'll find yourself in the right lane.

If it wasn't a specific model asking - sure.
Not sure though if that would be understood at all.
I did explain what most fellow fashion pros including me are looking for in a portfolio.
Obviously that isn't general enough.

Russ Freeman I will agree that you guys do keep good track of spotting the ones who perhaps try to come back. ππ½

"Ok, so models moan and photographers moan. I'm not the font of all knowledge and would not aspire to be the one to change things. I want to at least start conversations towards a better place to collaborate, work and connect."
It's why I'm engaging. It's an admirable wish as I said.
"The place would likely be a lot more positive if we banned those who appear to dislike PP or who attack it, as well as the habitual moaners and complainers from the groups or even from the site altogether."
What do you consider this? A swipe? Valid Criticism?
And the reason I ask if because I'm not sure how many others could say this and consider it to be just plain commentary.
Also it could be seen by some as off putting also. We could quibble on the "offensiveness". But it's not surprising to me that I've seen folk put off by such a comment. And interestingly you are looking towards a more collaborative environment.*
*I'm not making my posts with any aggression. I'm just interested in the perspective.

Michael_990 But that is NOT what has been asked for on here. By all means do it on a group chat asking for modelling advice. You've blocked me for a silly reason, especially as I was the one getting unwarranted advice about my career.

Afrofilmviewer I m sorry, but I don't really know how to answer to that.
Tone and meaning is now getting lost between us.
I'm not able to make you know that I'm not being aggressive towards what I want to happen. I made a post and for the most part it's bringing great insights into the platform. That's a positive for me and hopefully for others.

I'm sure this statement was spoken with some tonguing cheek by the poster.

Interestingly, just over 30% of PP model accounts have nude selected.
That's so interesting to know. The way it appears on here, it looks like most models are doing nude.
The place would likely be a lot more positive if we banned those who appear to dislike PP or who attack it, as well as the habitual moaners and complainers from the groups or even from the site altogether. When we did that over a decade ago, it had such a positive outcome that it still brings a smile to my face Smile
I remember on MM they tried that, but the repeat offenders would just open a new account and come back into the fray.
I can imagine your work here is never done.ππ½
erm, a search in my area alone shows that many models who donβt have nude ticked still have a lot of nude images in their portfolios and tagged images. :-) Itβs probably to try to limit pushy photographers or something, just a guess.
Guessing is a shocking habit; it's destructive to the logical faculty, according to Sherlock Holmes.
I couldn't reproduce your claim, but maybe that's a difference between Falkirk and North Devon.

Maybe emojis no longer help with intonation in text :-p https://purpleport.com/group/general-chat/196614/we-should-be-helping-each-other-not-hurting-each-other-/page/11/#gr3912970
Anyway, I was somewhat serious since when we did it last, the result was instant and positive, and I have no reason to suspect it would be different now.

maybe an upgraded membership on purpleport?
Perhaps you could just do a Premier League? Invite the very best into their own club room? Back in the day it would be the pub around the corner from Joe's Basement, you only got asked if they liked you.
There would be no difficulty in doing a top 25 on PP, maybe a top 50?
Better than an FPI and harder to earn.
Plus you don't get in if you can't play nice.
