We should be helping each other, not hurting each other

ANDY00 thanks for sharing that observation. I can imagine, for a new model, it may appear that nude is the only option on this site.
The site used to feature many other genres, from Artists models, commercial, art portrait, fantasy, but those have disappeared almost completely.

I didn't know anything about hobbyist modelling when I joined and learnt so much from the groups, some people are a little bit passionate and single minded then again so am I, but I think they are entitled to an opinion, so they shouldn't mind if I have one too.
For me there is far too much nudity on PP and that must be off putting to a number of photographers and models who don't want to be associated with that kind of thing, so they either put up with it or leave, everyone is free to choose!
I did once ask for a SFW version of PP purely for those wishing to keep themselves away from NSFW, but I was slaughtered in the comments, lol.
but there is a safe version, just don't tick NSFW. By default it is SFW. From that perspective I think PP gets a bad rap, people just can't help themselves, they tick NSFW and then goeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww nakeed laydeez :)
you must have read the post lol, exactly what everyone said.
You have to wonder why nude modelling isn't cheaper, after all, no clothes to buy, the model rocks up in his/her birthday suit, as long as models price match fully clothed with fully nude, someone will want to get value for money.
I think photographers should have to do 10 nude shoots as the model before they are let loose :-)
and how have you reached that conclusion?

MaristarOxley The other question I'd put back to you (in terms of making connections better) is to ask you whether you network at all with other models, particularly those who specialise in portraits and fashion, and if so then where?
I've worked with a number of models who only do those levels, or perhaps do lingerie, including some who used to model nude but no longer do (I'll point you to a couple if you PM me).

I understand that the OP at no point asked for anyone to give advice on her modeling at all. If she had, this thread would have been moved to the critique section. Now, you feel the need to point out my portfolio and tell me what I should know or do.. this section may be what your looking for - Portfolio Review

I pulled out every great idea I have ever had, threw them out of the window and thought for once I wouldn't be so serious :-) How about you lol

Interestingly, just over 30% of PP model accounts have nude selected.
That's so interesting to know. The way it appears on here, it looks like most models are doing nude.
The place would likely be a lot more positive if we banned those who appear to dislike PP or who attack it, as well as the habitual moaners and complainers from the groups or even from the site altogether. When we did that over a decade ago, it had such a positive outcome that it still brings a smile to my face Smile
I remember on MM they tried that, but the repeat offenders would just open a new account and come back into the fray.
I can imagine your work here is never done.ππ½

I suspect that there's a difference between what is being shot and what is being posted, perhaps - especially if photographers are seeking loves?

erm, a search in my area alone shows that many models who donβt have nude ticked still have a lot of nude images in their portfolios and tagged images. :-) Itβs probably to try to limit pushy photographers or something, just a guess.

Afrofilmviewer it has to go both ways.
Ok, so models moan and photographers moan. I'm not the font of all knowledge and would not aspire to be the one to change things. I want to at least start conversations towards a better place to collaborate, work and connect.
I'm not one to ask for money for a shoot here, but I have been paid for shoots that photographers are paying for.
Lenswonder said, 1729860274
If you want people to collaborate more first you have to have people come to an agreement to what a collaboration is.
I'd also advise people to shoot more if they can for the enjoyment of meeting like minded people rather than payment. Of course with the payment point you might find there is disagreement on what a collaboration is, which brings you back to square one and that's were you go back to your own non group based stream of networking which works for you.
I found that stat Russ posted earlier regarding private chats for photographer and models interesting, it may be why so many models create photographer accounts.

Ash Rowley Thanks for sharing your experience. Unfortunately male models fare less well than female models. I have a photographer account and I liked shooting with guys. There are photographers out here that will shoot with you.
How to find them? I'm hoping they can make themselves known π

My mistake. Won't happen again. She's blocked now.

Michael_990 give general advice on modelling not specific to an individual or a portfolio and you'll find yourself in the right lane.
