I think the only pages ranking photographers and models are these:-

https://purpleport.com/sitemap/model

https://purpleport.com/sitemap/photographer

The rankings are not by quality though. I think its mainly by number of uploads. Nonetheless many of the best photographers and models are high in the rankings.

Interestingly it would be good to know what those sitemap orders are based on

I *think* it might be by date they joined the site?

I did wonder with Russ being first on the photographer list if that was it

I think it must certainly be on joining date. I can't think of any other reason bearing in mind my presence in the list.

The obvious question is "what do you mean by best"? Surely it's purely subjective, as suggested above?  So perhaps a subsidiary question is "why do you want to know"?

To answer your question FPI's are chosen by Purpleport Staff and the PPCT as stated in the FPI information, which are then published prominently on Purpleport and awarded an FPI badge. Many models and photographers display proudly their FPI's which judges their creativity to be worthy of the award.

Obviously anyone who has received such an award has demonstrated their photographic or modelling skills, therefore I would liked to have seen who has been given the award in rankings order and filtered by SFW or NSFW rather than search though literally 1000's of photographers and models :-)

Yes photography and modelling is subjective to the individual and therefore we may not love every single FPI, but everyone can appreciate that Purpleport has gone to the trouble of selecting them for us to view. I can understand that some people have mentioned that loves are unfair because they are follower based, but to get 2000 followers, my guess is that those models and photographers are doing something right :-)

Why did I ask the question? It is as simple as finding other creatives works that I can appreciate, love, like and follow

Stick around a while and peruse the daily upload thumbnails.

Open the ones you like, and give them some love.

Pretty soon you’ll start to see patterns in your own taste & therein you might even start to see the same names tagged in the imagery you prefer to look at.

Follow those names.

And perhaps even add them to your ‘Would Love To Work With’ list

You’ll thereby create your own personal ranking..

If you judge a photographer or model only by FPIs, it's like only watching movies recommended by green tomatoes review. You’re getting just one viewpoint on what's 'good,' and you’ll miss out on a tonne of excellent talent. No one can tell you what is  'great art' for you. its a personal thing

No i thought you wanted to search by the amount of FPI's an artist has, so that by definition is judging an artist by fpis or number of is it not ? anyway just my pov, i see hundreds of crazy good talent on here daily who have few or no FPI's , an Fpi is a specific style (pigeonhole) in itself. i myself can pretty much see an fpi just by seeing a thumbnails as many others can on this site. but thats an fpi, everyone loves different styles as a personal thing

I don't want to come across as a creepy fan girl (or old lady) but I am following Holly Alexander on here and Instagram, I do love some of her work and so does my husband, some I don't but models can't be both sides of the camera, even though Holly can and works it extremely well :-) There are plenty of others like Holly and Ell Mae who give even a hobbyist photographers a great chance of getting an FPI.

I really respect the FPI award system system, there are far more I love than dislike. The ones I dislike normally take nudity somewhere I'm not comfortable with, but that's about me being subjective, not their artwork.

The artist has already been judged, I would merely be viewing work based upon the criteria to reach an FPI, hope you can appreciate this isn't meant to come across as me judging top rankings?

OK was just giving a pov for you I don't want to upset you, just pointing out you may miss some great artists but its entirely your choice, there is an internationally published photographer joined in last couple of weeks, has zero FPI's just for example :-) many pro artists take breaks from port building to get paid work and then come back when they want to build portfolio work etc many models take breaks and come back, Good luck ;-)

Don't be silly :-), everyone is entitled to their opinion but it's important for me to assure people I am not judging. I looked at your profile and I loved 17 of your 21 FPI's and only found you because you posted. So FPI awards appear to be richly deserved :-)

You added to your post :-)

I am sure someone wrote a script (or did it manually) that listed those who had the most FPIs on the site

No clue how to find it now though. It was a forum thread

Please smile when you read my post, I have an excellent sense of humour ;-)

I find having been here a few years that I look at whats posted each day and see what takes my eye, i might then love the image and maybe follow the photographer and or model.

Then you start to build a connection which will feed you more of their work as they post it.

by all means pop into my portfolio tandi, you might not like it but then again you might find some you like

Sorry this should have been posted from my photographers profile RAWing Waves

The joys of being a photographer and a studio owner lol
