I've used both Duracell and Smallrig batteries in my Canon cameras without issues. The Smallrig ones are particularly clever as they have a built-in USB C charger.

I have been using  - DSTE Electron EN-EL18 ENEL18D  Li-ion Battery Compatible with Nikon D4, D4S, D5, D6, Z9 Camera, D800, D850 Battery Grip for a couple of years now.

F6, D5, D4s and D3x. All fine. Someone has said they use the Nikon original charger and so do I. I don’t know if this has any bearing. Some are slightly tighter to get in than the originals, but no issue what so ever regarding the way they fit and work. The battery in the D3x has been hammered so certainly passes the test of time.

Just recently purchased on for the Pentax 645z. Original £77. DTSE brand £9. - Available on Amazon for a few years now.

The face emoji is the letter D. I can’t remove it ….. frustrating

Used third party batteries in my Nikon's, don't seem to last as well as Nikon brand, and I did have one that after a year would cause the camera to randomly lock up.  I have some Nikon batteries now over ten years old being used in my Z kit, only last half a day of tethering but still going.  For the price your saving and slightly shorter life your gaining a little buying none Nikon but buy a good brand.

Note some newer Nikons do draw more current, some third party and the very oldest Nikon batteries because of this were blocked in a recent firmware update, as this could cause issues with the bodies.

I use Duracell in my Canon 5DSr, Fuji XE4 and Olympus Tough, no issues.

I use Duracell for Canon R series no real issues so far although Canon have got sneaky and third party batteries won't charge in the Canon charger so need third party charger also.
Battery meter on camera doesn't work with some third party batteries too so that might be a deal breaker for videographers.

The Baxxtar V1 Maxx Protect do charge in the Canon charger, do buffer inside the R5C
(which only the LP-E6NH, but not the LP-E6 and LP-E6N from Canon itself do) and
provide battery levels. And you get three of them for the price of a single Canon LP-E6NH.

I always used cheaper 3rd party in my D750 and D850 but if you upgrade to a Z series mirrorless you may have problems. Only Nikon ones seem to work in my Z7

I have a Jupio in my Z6 right now, which I cycle with Nikon originals. Had it for three or four years and it is fine. I use the Nikon charger to recharge it without problems.

Duracell were great in my 810 and 850.  Absolutely no issues and I felt they lasted longer but can’t confirm that.  The other bonus was they could be recharged mid cycle where as the Nikon batteries were supposed to be fully discharged prior to charging.

The switch to a Z8 meant they were no longer compatible though, so if you are about to move to a Z8 or 9 then only the Nikon newest version has full compatibility and allows for in camera charging.

Duracell say that their current EN-EL15 batteries are the C version but I was unable get them to confirm that they'd be compatible with the new Nikon Zf (I don't have one - but I wondered.) Also I think you need the C version if you want to charge in camera with the USB C cable.

I have a Z6 and the Duracell units work a treat in them.  Ive done paid shoots with them in the unit with no problem.  Their double charger is fine as well.

The current EL15 may well be type C but the Z8 and 9 do not work with them.  if the ZF has the ability to charge via cable as on the z8 and 9 it will only do so with Genuine Nikon EL15 C’s Not even Nikon EL15 B’s allow this functionality even though the cameras will operate with them.

New Nikon EL15c are £59.99 at LCE. Is non genuine worth it?

In my case I get almost three Baxxtar batteries for the price of a single Canon battery,
and if the Baxxtar weren't red you couldn't tell them apart based on their performance.

Across my collection of batteries this is a 360 Euro difference.

Worth it for me.
