Anyone got the Canon EOS R5 yet?

Hi all,

Does anyone on here have the EOS R5 (or have used one) and have any insights to share on it?

I currently have the EOS R and the 5DS and the EOS R5 seems like a blend of the two.

I love the eye autofocus on the EOS R - which I really miss when I pick up the 5DS.

However I love the image quality of the 5DS compared to the EOS R (which is perfectly good).

Is my assumption that the EOS R5 will marry these two things together and potentially I will no longer need the EOS R and the 5DS?

Happy to see your thoughts, ideas and experiences - and any photo's to share (below) would be great too :)

I have used it, i rented one to try. I currently use a A7R3 with a converter for my canon glass.
I liked it enough that i an really thinking about switching to it. As it seams that it is a great combination for me .
Current use a 1DX for sport and my sony for model shooting.

and i think the R5 is the perfect camera to replace them both.

I have it. Compared to the R the autofocus is better imho, higher resolution, very fast burst shooting, and I prefer the control layout. IBIS is good - I can use an unstabilised 50 mm lens handheld at about 1/20th of a second for example. It is very expensive though, and hard to get hold of. The images of Maria on my portfolio use it.

Yes, and absolutely love it.  Even the EF lenses seem to perform so much better.  The shoot I did in the prison with Ed was the first outing with it, the details in the close up shots are incredible.
