Vogue in Iran, how far would one go?!

I came across these amazing shots that were taken for Vogue in Iran in 1969 by Henry Clarke about 10 years before the Islamic revolution. I just think it's a real shame that they can't be replicated in this day and age because of the whole Sharia law enforced by the government. There are so many great places in Iran that as a model I would have loved to be able to use as a background since it's where I was born.

So where would be your dream location be that you can't use because of the restrictions?

I would love to shoot in Egypt with the pyramids and ancient buildings but it will never happen

I found myself going through all the corridors having a look around. I wish more abandoned places had websites like this

You'd need to be pretty careful with the lighting too :-)

I would love to shoot in the backyard. It will never happen as it won't ever get cleared out.

For an urban shoot it would have to be San Francisco with so much diversity. Steep stepped streets, trams, Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, to name a few.

Beaches would be the Central Coast of New South Wales with so many unspoilt places.

South Island of New Zealand would be amazing for the mountain and lake backdrops for wild fashion.

Epidavros on the Peloponnese in Greece with it's ruins and architecture either Spring or Autumn to avoid the harsh light.

I love the beauty in the bleak and desolate so my number one place would be “the zone” from Andrei Tarkovskys 1979 film stalker. Although I heard some people died after filming there which puts a large dampener on the whole idea.

+1 - that's a cracking idea... have you seen the work of Eric Paré & Kim Henry there with light painting tubes.
