I know photographing scantily clad girlies is popular in England, Russia, some of the USA, some European countries, some of Australia... but where else in the world? I sometimes notice photographers in Chile, India, etc but they seem rare

I'd suggest you don't try and tap into the North Korea market...no evidence, just a feeling I have... ;-)
People object to the term girlie pic? This site is absolutely full of them, you just have to look at the photo feed. Are you meant to say "artistic studies of the young female"?

+1, model, woman or female is fine, in this case perhaps 'glamour pictures' would be more accurate. Girlie is pretty cringey and definitely not something I would like to be called.
It's a sign of how times have changed. Before Page 3, a photographer who took photographs of young ladies in their lingerie or less would be referred to as one who takes girlie pics, nudge,nudge, wink, wink, say no more.
After Page 3 they became known as glamour photographers, a profession many aspired to.
