I live near an airport, and quite often take photos of the planes whizzing past the house. One evening however, I spotted that the planes coming in were flying at the same level as the full moon. I got the camera out and waited until just the right moment then I caught a tail fin going past the full moon.

I know that this isn't really a picture of a plane, but it had a silhouette of a plane, and a couple of cockpit lights visible.

The picture has been quite popular on Flickr with the aviation geeks because of the amount on planning and preparation this shot usually takes. I got lucky with it, but at AV crowd do like it.

So, is this eligible or not? What do we think?

I'd say eligible, I'm just trying to identify the plane. I'd say they are nav lights on the starboard wing-tip, I'm guessing it's a freighter, but exactly what I couldn't say.

I reckon eligible. My guess is a 737. 😀

Great capture b.t.w.
