they just drop off the end after three months?

Not so much "drop off" as "get removed".

There'd be disappointment as well as pleasure in knowing an image had

... been brought to the attention of the selectors ...

The information can be found, it doesn't look ridiculous, if many people go to find it, to provide an easier mechanism to gain that knowledge - computers are good for doing the same thing often.

To know who has brought it to that attention is a different can of digital annelids.

Some proportion of people who suggest the elves look that way would object to that information which is about them being disclosed. So that looks like a no.

Others will say so, sometimes or always.

Others don't necessarily say so, but make that information discoverable. I keep a public  collection - two in fact, since the occasional selection to FPI is nice to know.

Tandi, the owner I think did write or direct the writing of the code and other code besides, but even if one writes one's own code, it has at least an opportunity cost.

Everything costs that's for sure, but not a considerable cost of thousands, just a small amount of time, 5 10 minutes and you can waste that drinking your morning coffee normally :-)

I would imagine the notification code allows for other notifications to be added simply rather than bespoke coding every time. If notification can be added simply, when someone submits a photo for FPI consideration, after it is added as a suggestion and noting that the username of the photographer or model is already known so the hard work is done, then a notification can be added to that suggestion code once it has been committed. Probably 5 minutes work.

If you didn't want to use a notification because it was more complex. Then the actual suggestion page https://purpleport.com/images/Suggested/ could have another button (Show My Suggestions) which simply uses your username to display data if you are in the list. The images by default are displayed like this, here is one of mine LOL "https://purpleport.com/portfolio/tandi/image/REMOVEDFORPRIVACY/model?type=suggested". You could use the SQL LIKE operator if the DB is SQL

If it were to be made public, the resulting power might be used for evil.

Not much power in this data, it's already public on the submitted page, as long as it doesn't include the name the person submitting I can't see any evil use ;-)

Hopefully Russ will chip in and confirm it’s straightforward or too difficult/not worthy of consideration..

Would it be possible to have a notification when someone suggests my photo for an FPI, so I know who the lovely person was so I can go and thank them, because some people don't add a comment to the photo saying "Suggested" :-) I'm not expecting to get an FPI but the person was kind enough suggest it and deserve my thanks/

System already works.  Those expecting recognition respond "Suggested" - those who don't, don't.
