Would it be possible to have a notification when someone suggests my photo for an FPI, so I know who the lovely person was so I can go and thank them, because some people don't add a comment to the photo saying "Suggested" :-) I'm not expecting to get an FPI but the person was kind enough suggest it and deserve my thanks/

As others have said on you're other posts , Some people don't want to let you know what they have done  , To be honest can not see the need for it

I'm one of those people. If my name were revealed in a 'suggested by' list, I'd stop suggesting.

I don't enjoy when people thank me for looking their profile. It used to annoy me because of the reply system, now sometimes I may simply not reply, this would be similar.

Your best way is the games section were some claim to be the suggester. It isn't totally accurate though because as you are aware there are two paths of suggestion. The membership wide and the official.

No need for notifications or lists for this, alternatively better to just visit those that showed you some 'love' and if possible give some back in return.

No, it will just further fuel the FPI hype and the "It's Not Fair" brigade.

everyone seems to want different things from Purpleport, it's surprising that the system does what it does considering no body wants anything to change lol.

Thanks for your input, I think this request is about as popular as all of the others I have made ;-)

(a) PP is not a democracy - to borrow from Terry Pratchett, it does operate a system of one man one vote, Russ being the man, and his being the only vote.

(b) For better or worse what Russ designed years and years ago has reached an equilibrium; most people are happy with the way most things are, and so there are many things that seem to a new(ish) member like a really good idea, which fall into the categories of "Some would like like it, but enough would hate it that it can't go forward", "We've changed it from working that way because the current way works better" and "It's been proposed but technical/practical reasons keep PP from doing it."  But you have no way to know that. Keep making suggestions, because that's the only way you find out, and some are bound to fall into "we should do that" Just not this one.

Thank you for explaining :-)

I can see this being very problematic on several levels

Keep suggesting I say Tandi! A fresh pair of eyes is always a good think.  I'm surprised a notification for when an image has been suggested hasn't already been implemented tbh because there is a notification for just about everything else! Somebody else did ask a little while back if there was a any way they could see if all of their images that had been suggested.

I'm not against the idea of a notification, most of the current ones can be switched off if you don't want them.  I don't think it's necessary to know who it was that made the suggestion because as has already been highlighted there are people who like to do that anonymously.

It would be nice to be able to quickly see which of my images are in the suggested queue, and be able to see if the ones that were in the queue have been voted off.

Me too I'd love that :-)

I don't have to see who suggested it, I just thought it would be a nice idea to thank the person, but 100% understand why people want to be anonymous so that wasn't a fair request from me.

I know you have suggested many things in recent weeks however just bear in mind.

A) the site owners only have a limited budget for IT. What you think is a quick little button being added actually costs thousands of pounds in terms of web developers time writing code and testing.

2) Are your suggestion actually making the site more profitable?

Food for thought.

Theres no real short cut but if you go to your portfolio and select - (Re-arrange your portfolio images) then top right grey cog select image manager, When you scroll through images in image manager those that are in the queue For FPI will show the unique line - (This image is in the FPI queue so its safety setting and member tags cannot be changed.)

At least you can see whats in the queue, they can still be rejected from this point
