Font Colours

So, I’m aware that colours on Profiles have been disabled, but in Shooting Notes you allow me to select colours from a palette, only to lose it when I save the note. Can the colours be enabled for Shooting Notes and also for Lists please.

Hey Ringo,

I've just re-checked my profile notes as I set them up (manually) so that they have headings with coloured fonts. They're still intact :-)

Maybe adding colours manually to your shooting notes might work for you too?

I think you'll find that they get removed next time you edit them - it's done at the point of saving.

Back when PurplePort started, colours were enabled in all rich editors, including profile notes and group posts/replies.  It got turned off something like 7 years ago.

Russ Freeman What did you feel was "broken" such that you felt you needed to disable colours?

Ahhh, thanks for the heads-up.

Does that mean that all added html is being stripped out?

I think I'd phrase it as "only approved HTML is allowed in", where "approved" is limited to those things you can do using the WYSIWYG rich editor.  Even <s> for strikeout - which used to be allowed - is now removed.

Sensual Art it’s so long ago that I really can’t remember, must be ten years.

Then I'm with the OP: can we have them back, please?

My current profile notes were added/amended maybe only 3 years ago. As I recall, some html/css attributes that I included manually were stripped out - no matter how I approached their inclusion - but specifying font colours was not one of them.

Regardless, the ability to apply and retain W3C HTML attributes to things like profile notes should be tolerable, in my opinion.

Sensual Art what is broken about notes that is somehow fixed by the inclusion of colours?

I shudder at the MySpaceification that would result, doubly so since even headings aren’t used properly.

(a) For those competent to do it, personalization is lost.

(b) For those not competent but who think they are, the chance to spot people with a bad eye for all things visual is taken away from the rest of us, ( and we have to rely on logos to call out those working with loss of sight or taste). A MySpaceified page gives a message.

But the request and behavior is not for the Profile page. The original posting above says it.
