This feels like a solution in need of a problem.
There are various filters that can give you a SFW user experience at least as well as a standalone SFW version could

You could have actually asked me if I wanted to fund the development of a new competitor to Purpleport rather than speculate widely :-) because the answer would be definitely NOT.
Actually, my assertion was that you were exploring the idea of making a new SFW version of PP, rather than funding one. You seemed to suggest previously that you had the skillset required to handle database work within the realm of this website - along with this post asking about people's interest in an alternative version of this site, it looked like you were exploring the viability or gauging the interest in an alternative which would be then used to decide whether it was something you were going to pursue. I was merely indicating to Sensual Art that this was how I thought it looked, I wasn't accusing you of anything or declaring that I believe this to be your sincere intent. I honestly don't care enough to ask you outright, as the answer wouldn't really matter one way or another. And before you think I'm being rude, the reason the answer wouldn't matter is because an alternative SFW version of PP wouldn't interest me or change how I approached the platforms I already use. Also, if your intention is to spark debate, then people taking the time to explain their opposition to ideas should be encouraged rather than scrutinised. Just because somebody registers a negative response to a conversation doesn't mean that their input need be dismissed as 'moaning' - sometimes, an idea is just shit.
Would you have thought smoking in pubs would have been banned in 2007, will alcohol be banned in the future or even NSFW? I literally heard people in the past say, "I could kill for a cigarette", I've never heard anyone be that desperate over NSFW content ;-)
read with a smile on your face, I am really funny sometimes you may appreciate me more!

In the new utopia Holly, I would only make you pay half :-)

Phil M but there are certain gaps, as I've already discussed, which make it less than ideal to show to non members.

As others have said, for everything else there is Instagram

I don't see the point - what you are suggesting is effectivly a clone of the current PP site with the 'Show NSFW' filter disabled

tandi can you suggest how it will be paid for. PP is funded by old white males* wishing to pay attractive young women to pose nude or semi-clothed.
*old white male here. ;)
OMG Huw you will like this and I am joking a little. You don't charge the user at all, you collect their data and track their every move, then you sell advertising in products which your members may have been or be interested in, background, props, wigs, makeup outfits, cameras, accessories etc etc. Call it Purple-OOGLE or Purple-FACE, eventually people will give up trying to protect their personal information because a free service is better than a paid service which cares about data privacy.
Please, let me know how I did :-)

All you have to do is turn off NSFW and Adult in your filter settings, not sure what else you want. It's a very different experience. What's missing in your opinion? or is it a reputation thing because you would rather not be associated with somewhere that has "nakeed ladeeze"

That's a very good question, which I'm going to decline answering and plead the 5th...
PP does have a reputational problem even with photographers who shoot NSFW. But there is nothing better out there in the UK for organising nsfw shoots. I wouldn't be inviting muggle friends to take a look, even though your friend must have switched off NSFW filters to get the impression she did.
To a large extent Instagram is the place for what you want. I could see some demand from agency models and wannabee agency models that want to host a SFW portfolio but I think that's probably pretty niche

yes please :-)
It doesn't have to be a clone, it could be an opt in opt out, the filter coding is already there. The default is SFW only, when you join and become a VIP you can switch to NSFW or higher.
Though why show the NSFW icon, it shouldn't do that, it highlights that there is naughty content, that you can view if you turn off the NSFW filter :-)
Also why is the NSFW filter a cookie and not a user setting :-)

These are wise words, if my most liberal and trusted friend had an issue, there is now way I can share some NSFW with the others because they are positively Victorian ;-)

In response to your original post, I would not prefer a NSFW version of PP. After reading through the comments I appear not to be the only one, indeed the overwhelming majority of comments suggest others would not prefer a NSFW version of PP.
Moving on ….

PP sits neatly between Instagram and Only Fans.
There was a similar site which went NSFW a few years ago.
Can't remember its name, although I may still have a portfolio on it.
