Night Shooter in Brighton with Zara Watson

Shooting after dark can be very creative especially when shooting people on the streets of a city. Simple backgrounds become alive with colour and reflections and the decision of when to use additional lighting can dramatically change the look of a shot.

This is a 4 hour workshop that begins with a meet-up to discuss the shoot and then we venture onto the city streets looking for interesting backdrops and light. While it is still light we will control the ambient/flash mix using flash to bring out the colour in the sky just before dusk.

Once the sun has set we will be shooting at high ISO and with wide aperture lenses. Sometimes a touch of flash can make the shot and sometimes it will destroy it. We will also be using the Westcott Ice Lights to supplement the existing city lights.
Finally we will introduce motion blur, using both panning techniques and utilising traffic movement.

With only 6 delegates everyone gets plenty of shooting time.
