Bespoke home studio workshops with Simone H

Simone H has been modelling for 15 years: I have been working with models since my late teens, and over the last six years I’ve shared my knowledge through workshops and private tuition. I’m equally at home exploiting natural light and using studio flash units to produce dramatic images.

Although a relatively late convert to digital shooting, I’ve embraced the opportunities that mirrorless cameras offer for using unusual lenses for striking in-camera effects. (For examples, see my personal portfolio.)

We have worked together many times over the years and have teamed up to offer specialised tuition. We have a combined total of over 700 positive references on Purpleport, and believe that we can offer a sensible and down-to-earth approach to improving your photography, whether you are a complete beginner, new to model work, or have a good deal of shooting behind you. Our combined experience means that we have encountered most problems already – and we’re up for new challenges.

We are offering a session for just two people, so that we can cater specifically to what you want to learn in a way that isn’t possible in bigger groups. You can get more attention and support, maximising the benefits of the tuition, as well as getting more shooting time.

A feature of our workshops has been that they are experiential – that the photographers get to take a lot of pictures to put things into practice, backed up with an initial explanation and written notes setting things out for further study. We plan to make this part of how we work with you.

We’re offering four hours of tuition in your chosen areas in Simone’s home for up to two people. The total cost is £310, whether you split it with another photographer, or choose to have a completely exclusive session. The content will be led by your needs.

If you don’t have someone you’d like to team up with, we will aim to find a second photographer to team up with you who has similar photography goals.

We can tailor the session to what you want to learn or improve on, so we will have a discussion once you register your interest. Possible topics include an introduction to working with a model, basics of studio lighting, shooting with natural light, dramatic bodyscapes, and portrait lighting.

Workshop dates will be arranged to suit all parties.
