A SERIES OF LIGHT: SEASON TWO 

A Series of Light is a six-part anthology show which premiered its first season on Amazon Prime UK and US in July 2020.

Made independently, through our registered non-profit company Oxygen Films, our series has reached over 350,000 people within the first three months of release.

Now, in its second series, A Series of Light aims to push boundaries in telling provocative stories on mental health, sexuality and identity. From tales of canceled celebrities to serial killers, scouse lads in the 90s and predatory catfishers - the series explores a whole host of stories which detail isolation, intimacy and life in a digital age.

THE ROLE

We’re due to shoot an episode in the second season of our critically acclaimed non-profit show, “A Series of Light", which will be available on Amazon Prime in both U.K. and US. For one episode, titled "Lowlight", which explores ‘catfishing’, we see the naïve young jock, Noah - played by Philly-based male model Tyler Delaney - opposite who his character believes to be a woman. However, we soon learn that this woman is actually a fake video, used by a young gay man (Arron, British rising star Ole Madden) desperate to trick straight men into revealing intimate and explicit images of themselves. 

  We are looking to cast the woman who plays opposite Noah, whose flirty video chat soon turns a little more explicit. One of the good things about this is that both characters are able to film their respective parts from home (or wherever they're comfortable), and will be able to be in charge and control of the footage as it will be recorded on their end. To be clear: this will be a remote / virtual role.  

I appreciate it might come as a bit of a strange casting, and we are very aware that a voluntary / collaborative role in the film may seem exploitative. To emphasise, and be transparent which as a non-profit company we feel is incredibly important, everyone working on the film is doing so under a voluntary basis. We get no funding whatsoever to make what we make, and do it out of love, passion and because we know that film has such an innate power to change.  

There are no lines involved in the role, but a little bit of non-verbal acting such as shrugs, smiles and waves. I want to be incredibly transparent when I say that both the male and female roles do involve nudity, but we want it to be non-gratuitous and really highlight that both are in control of the footage, lighting and angle; and will be handled incredibly sensitively.
