Looking to arrange group shoots and model days at my new studio...who's interested?

Hi guys,

I'm a pro tog with over ten years experience (please check out my references here: https://purpleport.com/portfolio/jameslarkinphoto/), and I have set up my entire house as a large studio space for hire.

Available shooting areas include a large dedicated studio room, 3 bedrooms, a study, a lounge, a kitchen, a conservatory, a bathroom, 3 long corridors, an interesting staircase, and a large back garden complete with decking, lawn and bushes. The house contains an eclectic array of furniture and props (including a large pool table!), and I also have a very extensive array of clothing and lingerie which models can use.

The studio contains 2 backdrop stands, a range of paper, cloth and vinyl backdrops, a large selection of studio lights (both flash heads and continuous lighting!), soft boxes, beauty dishes, umbrellas, stands, remote triggers and 1 boom.

I'm now looking to host both model days and group shoots at my studio, to put my studio on the map, and to earn money for me and any models that are interested!

For those of you that haven't taken part in either of these type of events before, they work as follows:

Model Day: The studio is reserved solely for the use of a model for the whole day, and he/she agrees to shoot for a set number of 1 hour slots, (usually 6 or 8 in the day, with appropriate breaks throughout!), and then the studio and the model both advertise the event, and try to find photograghers to book and pay for those 1 hour slots at a fixed rate which is set by the studio and the model together (the model only shoots with one photographer at a time!). So if the model wants to be paid £30ph, and the studio wants to be paid £15ph, then we'd charge £45ph for each slot, and the studio and the model will both get the money that they are looking for.

Group Shoot: For these events the model agrees to work for a set period of time (usually 3 or 4 hours, but can be a full day of up to 8 hours on occasion!), whilst being photographed by a group of photographers (usually around 6 in number), who each take it in turn to shoot with the model, over a number of different set-ups and outfit changes. These events often have a theme and are more structured than the model days, and hence need more involvement from the studio owner, to ensure that everything goes to plan. Again the money the model gets paid is dependent upon the number of photographers booked for the shoot. For example we might charge £40 per photographer for a 4 hour shoot, reserving £25 from each photographer for the model and £15 to the studio, so with 6 photographers booked on the shoot the model would get £150 for 4 hours work, and the Studio £90. An added bonus on group shoots, is that the photographers are often happy to provide the model with images from the shoot, free of charge.

It is also possible to do a little bit of both, i.e. Sell a few 1:1 slots earlier in the day and then have the group shoot afterwards.

It's important to understand that the studio can not guarantee how many bookings we will get, and can not pay the model for any hours that aren't booked, but if we both work to promote the events we should get enough bookings to make them worth doing!

For those travelling by train, I'm happy to do pick-ups and drop-offs at my local station, which is Coseley, and I'm also happy to let models stay the night in one of my spare rooms free of charge if required.
