Nightshooter Workshop in Cambridge with the lovely Sharon Janney tomorrow. Just £75!

We have a couple of places left on our Nightshooter workshop tomorrow night in Cambridge. Sharon and I have run these events all over the country. During a three hour gentle walk around the city you will learn to use speedlights on and off camera to balance flash and ambient then as the sun drops we concentrate on using the lights of the city.

The Workshop

Shooting after dark can be very creative especially when shooting people on the streets of a city. Simple backgrounds become alive with colour and reflections and the decision of when to use additional lighting can dramatically change the look of a shot. If it rains then embrace the reflections!

This is a 3 hour workshop that begins with a meet-up to discuss the shoot and then we venture onto the city streets looking for interesting backdrops and light. We will be shooting at high ISO and with wide aperture lenses. Sometimes a touch of flash can make the shot and sometimes it will destroy it. We will also be using the Westcott Ice Lights to supplement the existing city lights.

The Location

This workshop takes place in Cambridge. We'll not only use the night lights of Cambridge but also introduce flash.

The Event

This workshop runs between 6.00pm-9.00pm on the 7th April. The cost of the workshop is £75 per person. And is limited to a maximum of 6 photographers. Members of the Guild of Photographers qualify for a 10% discount on this event. Please contact steveAndrew Appleton .com for more information.

The Gear

You will need a DSLR or CSC camera plus suitable lenses, we recommend you bring a 50mm f1.8 lens if you have one however most modern zoom lenses should be suitable and a speedlight.
