Image Filter Enabled: How to view NSFW or Adult images

By Chris Cook, written 1384167983

We have the following safety settings on PurplePort:

  • Suitable for Work (SFW)
  • Not Suitable for Work (NSFW)
  • Adult

These are applied to all images uploaded to PurplePort and allow anyone (including visitors to our site) to filter out certain images (e.g. lingerie, nudity, gore, etc.). Information about these safety settings can be found in our Image Upload Guidelines (including which setting to use for images).

By default, PurplePort displays only SFW images (which can be viewed at all times), with images marked as NSFW or Adult being filtered until you enable viewing of NSFW or Adult images.

How to view NSFW or Adult images

Filtered images show as Image Filter Enabled. Sometimes they are hidden from a page (e.g. image albumsimage collections, posts on The Purple Bloggroup posts, etc.), in which case you'll see a prompt explaining that some content has been filtered and how you can view it (such as a yellow banner at the top of the page with a button to click to Show all images).

Anyone (members and visitors to the platform) can choose to view NSFW or Adult images or keep them hidden while they browse PurplePort.

To view NSFW or Adult images, go to the purple cog (top right), and under the heading Site Options, make sure the following are ticked (depending on which is appropriate for you):

  • Show NSFW images (this will show SFW and NSFW images)
  • Show adult images (this will show SFW, NSFW and Adult images)

To stop viewing NSFW or Adult images, untick the appropriate option. If you have Show NSFW images and Show adult images both ticked, then unticking Show NSFW images will automatically untick Show adult images as well.
