How to change (or add) your cover image

By Russ Freeman, written 1362317516

Your cover image is the image displayed across the top of your portfolio page, just above your avatar

Once a cover image is enabled, it cannot be disabled, but you can change the image used as your cover image by following the steps below:

  • View the image you want to use as your cover image
  • Click Use as cover image (from the grey cog, top right)
  • Select a crop for your cover image (ideal dimensions for a cover image are 1080 pixels across and 350 pixels high, but any images 1080 pixels across can be used)
  • Click Crop and use as cover image when you've chosen a crop for your cover image

Your new cover image will now display on your portfolio page.

Alternatively, you can set your cover image by viewing your portfolio page, hovering over the image (or tapping it) and choosing Use as cover image from the pop-up menu.

Images that cannot be used as your cover image

Some images cannot be used as your cover image, such as:

  • Images marked as Visible to members only
  • Images with the safety setting Adult

Information about Adult images is in our Image Upload Guidelines.

FAQs

I've set an image as my cover image, but when I click on my new cover image, it still shows my previous cover image. Why is this?

It sounds like you have used the Replace this image option (available when you click Edit on your image) to change your cover image instead of using the Use as cover image option to change your cover image. Using Replace this image will not change your cover image.

To fix this, view the image you want to use as your cover image, go to the grey cog (top right) and choose Use as cover image.

I'm still stuck and need help. What can I do?
