Art Asylum is a well set out studio catering to all your model and photography needs, Steve was very welcoming and was my first time using this studio and was on hand to assist if need be which was nice as im not too familiar with the studio setting overall as i'm normally on location and building up my experience in the studio as time goes on, i'm very sure ill be back at some point

Just finished my first studio day at Art Asylum and loved it! Steve was so friendly and welcoming, coming to meet me at the station and showing me around the studio beforehand. Communication in the lead up was great, and organising the day was really straightforward.

It’s a great location, with loads of space for set ups with studio lights and back drops as well as different dressed areas and loads of natural light. The changing room is a big space with everything you’d need and lots of wardrobe options too. Steve was always on hand to assist with lighting, make suggestions and check I had enough cups of tea to keep me going throughout the day! I also got to make use of the fab location right by the seafront, shooting by the beach and harbour with one of the photographers I worked with. Steve made my time at the studio really relaxed and enjoyable, and I’m looking forward to coming back in the future.

Yet again another fantastic shoot at one of my favourite studios Art Asylum. I shot here last week with the wonderful Darkbear Photography. Steve is a wonderful host,always making sure I have everything I need. He’s so accommodating from start to finish. Heats the studio up before I get there,helps me with my bags and of course tea and coffee on draft! He’s always been so kind and respectful to me and i will never forget Steve was one of my first professional shoots in this trade! I love working here with the beautiful set ups he has. You can see a lot of effort goes into the studio to keep it looking so good. Always around to assist us when we need him with lighting ect. Thankyou for having us Steve! You’re truly wonderful! So looking forward to our studio day in the next couple of months. Hope to see you before! Take care! Highly recommended by me of course! X

It’s always a pleasure to work with Steve. This time we did another studio day and it went really well due to Steve’s professionalism and friendly attitude. Steve always has excellent communication and his pre-communication was on spot as always. Steve was kind enough to help me to rearrange slots and even helped to organise a remote shoot and was very helpful throughout the whole studio day. His studio is one of the best I have ever been, has a lot of different set ups and every photographer can find something suitable their tastes there. Steve always cares about model’s well-being and refreshments were always on hand .Steve’s studio was warm and cosy and it’s always a pleasure to be back there. Thanks Steve,till next time 😇

Another shoot at this lovely studio, this time facilitating a remote shoot between the photographer and model during her studio day. Steve's pre shoot communications were excellent, as usual, and he kept me up to date throughout. He was super helpful during the shoot, moving and adjusting lighting as required.

Steve's studio is one I enjoy attending. It's a polite and professional environment and the photographers have always been respectful. Steve himself is great company, always offering tea and coffee and making sure the model is warm.

AJ the Model

Had my first shoot at Art Asylum reloaded last week. Steve was a pleasure to deal with, great pre comms and very helpful. The studio is well equipped with two separate rooms to shoot in, and we also ran a remote session using Steve's camera tethered to a laptop - Steve was especially helpful on this session and ensured it all worked out well. I enjoyed all 5 sessions that were arranged and look forward to going back in the not too distant future.

First time visiting Steve's fantastic studio in Weymouth. Steve couldn't be more welcoming and helpful during the 3 hours we were there. The studio was well equipped for both studio and natural lighting, with lots of props to work with. Most definitely using again. Thanks Steve!

Another fantastic shoot yesterday at the amazing art asylum studio. Steve is absolutely wonderful and amazing. Without a doubt his hospitality is always awesome.I absolutely adore and love shooting at the Art asylum. Love the set ups and the props! Always manage to walk away with stunning images. If you haven’t visited or worked at the art asylum you must go! Such a great studio! And Steve is one in a million! Been shooting with Steve since I first started modelling so we definitely go back! Thankyou for everything! You’re the best! Highly recommend of course! Can’t wait for more shoots there in the future. Maybe another studio day! Keep your eyes peeled! X

I've lost count of how many times I've been to the studio recently, but this most recent was to host a latex day. As usual, Steve's pre shoot communications with me were excellent from the start, helping me with promotion and making himself and his studio available for me. The studio itself is very well equipped, all it takes is a little imagination and you can have gobo light effects all the way through to natural light boudoir - it covers everything. Steve always keeps the studio warm and the changing room stocked with biscuits and basic essentials so if you need bobby pins, they're available!

During the course of the day we tethered to Belgium and the USA with my equipment and Steve was more than willing to hand hold the camera on a ladder over the bath to help the photographer get his perfect shot, that's his level of commitment! Steve is always polite and professional whilst being friendly and approachable. I feel very comfortable in the studio and will happily return and recommend it to other models.

I look forward to the future visits already in the diary, thankyou again for another wonderful shoot!

I love shooting remotely at your studio. Thank you for assisting me with all the lighting and gels.

Getting to use your Gobos was quite nice, as i have yet to buy some for myself. Having access to such excellent gear and knowledge is truley inspiring.

It was my first time shooting at this studio remotely, with Angel Black.

We had planned it some time ago, and I was looking forward to working with Angel at somewhere new, for me.

The studio has great spaces to shoot, you can use natural light, with some great stronger or softer lighting, depending on where you shoot.

There is natural light as mentioned, but also LED & flash, so no shortage of options.

The sets available, and brick walls in available in areas were enough, and there are plenty of props available, including a bath...

Steve was a star, helping Angel out, and holding the camera for me, when I had an idea to shoot downwards.

I can recommend this fantastic studio, for remote or in person shoots.

I love this place. It is well-equipped, has a useful variety of shooting areas and a nice curve. And an interesting roof. Steve is very helpful.

Booked for one of the recent model shoots, comms were precise and clear. Upon arrival greeted by the host Steve and shown around the many possibilities for shooting.

Steve being on hand throughout to provide assistance made for a relaxing time.

The numerous facilities and props make this a worthy studio indeed.

I've not left a reference for the studio for quite a while...so I will :)

But this one will be slightly different! The studio offers 'Hours Packages' where you buy a set of hours, 10 for example, and get them at a discounted rate. The more you buy the bigger the discount. These days with everything going up, I think this is a great idea! You even get a whole year to use them in :) They've recently started offering similar packages which cover their Studio Days offering more savings.

Talking of Studio Days, plenty of those as well with models from Somerset to London and beyond too.

Give the place a try - you won't be disappointed :)

My very first time shooting down Art Asylum and it really did not disappoint.

Such an amazing location and studio full of character and charm!

I genuinely had a great time shooting at this studio and felt very comfortable and relaxed throughout... I look forward to my next visit!

I've shot here many times being the model but today was my first time shooting here properly as a photographer.

Apart from the studio being an absolute playground for creativity with it's many sets, the main studio with it's infinity wall is well equipped.

Steve is away on hand to offer as much or as little help if needed.

For a fairly new and inexperienced photographer such as myself, Steve is great at offering advice and assistance in a helpful manner, which in turn increases confidence.

I am already booked on a few more events here at the studio and cannot wait to return.

Art Asylum is a great space to shoot in providing many possibilities for backgrounds/backdrops from an Infinity Wall to more esoteric brick walls. wooden panelling, and much more. There is a multitude of lighting equipment - lights and soft boxes and a spacious natural light room currently as a bedroom and some sets. There is a private changing room for models and a huge collection of clothes and props. On the many occasions I've shot there I've found Steve to be a great host who works hard to get the set ups you need or, leaving you to get on with it whilst supplying teas and coffees and keeping the models warm. Well done Steve and thanks for yesterday.

I had my first trip over to Weymouth to shoot at Art Asylum and I am not surprised why it is so popular! Steve was a lovely host, providing many cups of tea throughout the day... though there was a mysterious lack of coasters. But I can highly recommend the place as one of new my favourite studios in the South.

With a versatile studio and boudoir space available plus a great dressing room with a bunch of outfits/shoes already there as an extra option. And it's right by the seafront which is a bonus to start and end the day walking along.

I had an absolutely fantastic studio day at Art Asylum Studio! The pre-communication was excellent; Steve kept me updated on all the bookings and helped me fill the slots! 🤩 On the day of the shoot, he met me near the studio and kindly helped with my heavy bag, showing consideration. Inside, he offered me some snacks and tea, showcasing remarkable kindness and friendliness. Steve gave me a tour of his spacious studio, featuring fabulous and diverse backgrounds, great props, fantastic lighting, and a gorgeous cyclorama. The studio is well-equipped and meticulously maintained. I also have to emphasize the incredible settings that Steve creates all the time—beautiful decorations with flowers, fabrics, and beautiful furniture! You will definitely find some perfect sets for you!

The changing room was cozy and very comfortable 🥰 equipped with many great mirrors and everything a model may need. There were also plenty of great outfits and props, very tidily organized in the boxes. We had such a great conversation, and Steve tried his best to make me feel comfortable and warm! All shoots were very easy and fun. Steve set the perfect lighting and helped the photographers throughout the shoots. I must say, I've worked with many absolutely fabulous photographers in this area, and the shots they made in the studio look stunning!

It was such a great experience, and we've already booked two more days in May! 🤩 I am very much looking forward to coming to this amazing creative space with such a warm and beautiful atmosphere! 🥰
