I didn't know what this was until I googled it. IF this is the problem that Laura has, I can see why she feels she is not getting the treatment she needs in the UK and has to pay for what she feels is doing her good, at a commercial holistic clinic in Cyprus.

I wish her well and hope a cure is found soon.

Thank you for your informed, and informative, comment - I'm sure Laura will enjoy being publicly mocked by such a superior intellect. For those facing the day to day symptoms (real or otherwise) I'd imagine there's a little less to laugh about.

"Alas" is the key word. 

And if you can see any mockery whatsoever in that posting, go and try to see an optician.

The NHS is - while it lasts - relatively cheap, prepaid for all citizens are residents, and really quite good.  (The French pay more, and get something I suspect of being a bit better - not as much better as it costs them, but better.  The Americans have their own troubles.)
