I like to do tutorials myself, but I strongly believe teachers/tutors need re-training and improving always to stay at the top of the game. So I wanted to further improve my lighting skills and my skin tones and as far as I am concerned there is no one better qualified than Mike to help me gain that knowledge.

I could not of been more right he is an absolute professional, kind patient knowledgeable and fun. I advise anyone before you go and spend money on a new camera or lens to be properly trained, its a far better use of your money than just adding better cameras and glass.

I cant recommend Mike highly enough, thoroughly enjoyed myself, his and Amie's company was superb, I feel I am now set up to go back and pass on my knowledge to others, Thank you Mike, I do hope to see you again. Martin

Sunday’s lighting workshop with Amie Boulton modelling and Michael aka White Label on lighting at MAP was another awesome day. Michael is very professional, he gave us lots of amazing light set ups, explained everything in detail and made the day thoroughly enjoyable answering all questions posed. This workshop is really good value for money and so informative. Michael is a really warm, friendly, funny and approachable loveable charachter. I love working with Michael and Amie as they just bounce of each other. Michael explains why he is using that particular light source, how he achieves it, pitfalls to avoid and always shows you BOC shots so you can see what look you are trying to achieve and encourages you and is always happy to guide you to achieve a fabulous shot. I would highly recommend a lighting workshop with White Label you won’t be disappointed. Thanks to Amie and Michael for a fab weekend, look forward to seeing you both in a few weeks, safe trip home. x

Mike is an exceptional tutor, his attention to detail is outstanding and goes the extra mile to explain, instruct and debunk the dark art of lighting. Both Mike and Amie Boulton made an excellent team on the day at Map Studios.

In Search of That Perfect Shot..............

Attended a lighting workshop held by White Label and Amie. Had a fabulous day and learned a lot. Totally recommend these workshops. Have shot with Amie before, several times, and can't wait to do some more with her later. Thank you Michael & Amie, :-)X

I attended a workshop that was done by Aime Boulton and White Label, The shoot was amazing and great value for money, White labels workshop setup is really good, going through at least 6 different lighting setups, showing and talking to you through every step so you understand why your positioning your lighting in a certain way and what the results will be, He had time for questions and took time to answer each and every one I would like to attend more workshops by White Label and Aime, White Label I found to be polite and very professional throughout the whole day, I would recommend him to all photographers and models, you will get great images and learn loads of new lighting techniques, Real pleasure to work with

I had a day booked with Michael (White Label) along with Amie Boulton at Alex Kirk’s MAP Studio in Loughborough.

I genuinely had a fantastic day shooting fashion, with Michael and Amie making it great fun and a pleasure to work with them both all day. They’re a really good team and work very well together. It was really good to learn about different lighting techniques for fashion in particular and we’ll also have a set of notes to refer back to as well. I’m very happy with my set of images that I’m taking away with me.

Michael is relaxed, very easy to work with and very down to earth. He definitely isn’t someone who is egotistical or has a high opinion of his self-importance. I’ll happily seek out Michael’s workshops/studio days etc. in the future.

Very highly recommended.

Had a great workshop with Mike at MAP studio in Loughborough. The workshop covered lighting for beauty and fashion.

Mikes approach is open, practical, down to earth and therefore both enjoyable and effective.

We got through loads in our 6 hour workshop and I enjoyed every minute of it. Also, most importantly, learned loads as well.

I had the most pleasure of receiving some 1-2-1 tuition with Mike at Map Studios in Loughborough.

We went through what I wanted to achieve and then went through each set up. Mike explained the techniques and made them understandable and easy to remember.

I booked a single shoot with Tatiana and Amie Boulton and a duo shoot with both fabulous models.

I decided to shoot two of the shoots outside and his guidance was much appreciated.

I would recommend White Label without question. An awesome Photographer with sound ideas, always professional and very hard working. Always going the extra mile to ensure you get an Image your happy with.

Not only did he chauffeur us all the way there and back, he assisted some of the photographers on the shoots and delivered some lighting training, which they were all very pleased with

I finally got to meet and work with Mike last weekend while I was down in Plymouth on tour. Mike kindly put me up on at his lovely home which was a really big help for me, looked after me 100%.

I shot with Mike on the Saturday evening in a lovely park with the pink blossom trees as our backdrop. The shoot was lots of fun, Mike is organised, professional and has a down to earth attitude that made me feel comfortable from the off. He is a great photographer and I can't wait to see the results from the shoot.

Can't say how many shoots i've done with Mike, i lost count at 217 ;-)

This ref is of a different nature because although during this weekends tour i did shoot again with him (omg the images ♥) it's more a refernce on how he worked with his peers! Mike did his first 1-1 tuition this weekend with me as the model and you would think he has been doing it for years, no idea why he hasn't been as his work is up there with the very best, if i'm honest i think it was maybe a confidence thing but omg he smashed it and taught the photographer so much in which he was so grateful for. He explained the finer details with photography and showed him both basic and in depth set ups and there was one very happy customer at the end of the day. He rocked it like a boss!! Then, day 2 i was modelling for an event and Mike was there for assistance. Seeing him work and teach others is so lovely to watch, each and everyone of the attendees were amazed at his knowledge and he bought so much fun along to the day too. Mike has a super infectious nature about him that everyone can't help but love. He bought along so much entertainment and made people laugh the whole day even threw a lil wig on and jumped in for some test shoots with one of the attendees. Highlight of the day for many! Safe to say Mike helped make the day awesome, wouldn't have been the same without him there. He went above and beyond this weekend and i'm so pleased he got the recognition he deserves. I have said it time and time again how amazing he is as a photographer, a friend and as a person but now he can add tutor to the list as well. Mike you rock and you really shone this weekend. High fives mofo :-) #topteam!

Mike White or as I call him Mike Gray, many mid tones of grey.

It all started when I sensed he was brushing past my lens and asking what f-stop I used to get my attention. The progression of his index finger moving and slipping down through the customs keys and then asking directly into my ear softly how I wanted my shutter speed with an abundance of ISO settings to use. The way his aggressive tight grip but at the same time, gentle-mannered hands slid around the rim of my manual focus with such precision. Finishing with the words “what type of white balance do you prefer”

I quickly became aware and it was apparent Mike wanted to teach me photography...Hahaha!

He has an awesome sense of humour and his personality alone is wonderful - team that with his stunning camera wielding skills and his savviness with lights, you get an amazing photographer!

I have been admiring Mikes work for some time after seeing some of his images of the incredible Amie Boulton. I finally got to meet Mike yesterday when he was shooting at South House Retreat, where I was working with Amie.

Mike was incredibly generous across the day, loaning us his model for duo and trio work. Such an incredibly talented and interesting guy who really helped to make the day a roaring success.

It was fabulous to be able to hang out with one of the coolest guys on the block. I truly hope that our paths cross again in the future Mike!

I had a fantastic shoot with Mike on Sunday! We were shooting sports/chic fashion styles around some of the fab little locations in Bristol.

Mike was a pleasure to work with, really friendly, chatty and easy going, which made our shoot really fun and time just flew by.

He's a very talented photographer and knows what he's doing, I definitiyl learnt a few things! The images I saw on the back of the camera looked awesome and I can't wait to see the edits.
