I attended a ‘Natural Light’ workshop ran by Steve today and hosted by SimoneH in her Home.

These workshops are really useful in lots of ways and I would recommend booking up if you get the chance.

Steve offers guidance and insight into the subject and acts as a sounding board to encourage questions.

He keeps to the schedule and ensures each photographer has ample opportunity to shoot in each setup.

I always enjoy the interaction with the other attendees exchanging ideas & experience. These events offer terrific value with all this considered. Thank you

Steve ran a natural light workshop at Simoneh's house. His teaching method is low key with little nudges and suggestion as you shoot. I found this a very helpful and pleasant teaching method allow me to experiment and not micro manging the shoot.

Another awesome shoot with Steve, this time being at my new home using the natural light. Steve is very easy to get along with and such a talented photographer, images once again were fab, and Steve was again kind enough to share them with me. Myself and Steve also put on a natural light workshop shop last week at my home which went fantastic.

Highly recommended by me.

Met Steve for the first time today on a natural light workshop. He was very helpful and the course was informative. I tried a few different camera settings than I normally used. His choice of model for the event was good and I spent an enjoyable 4 hours swapping stories with them and the other participants. I would gladly use Steve again for other useful workshops and would recommend him freely.

Met Steve for the first time today at a natural light workshop he was running at a model’s home. I had tried to get on one of his workshops before but couldn’t.

This was really out of my comfort zone as Steve instructed us on how to make the best of the available light and I was using camera settings that I have never used before which to start with was very strange.

The images I was able to get were better than I hoped and all the time Steve was making sure the other participants and myself were happy.

Steve and our model SimoneH, were great hosts. We all got on well and I would highly recommend Steve as a photographer and instructor to anyone…

Steve ran a natural light workshop that was hugely beneficial. Although I shoot with natural light and a single flash a lot for work, I picked up some useful tips and tricks that I can implement in my photography. Relaxed, knowledgeable and a thoroughly nice bloke to boot! Look forward to our paths crossing again soon.

I worked with Steve on his natural light workshop recently, at F/8 studio in Gloucester - what a day!

All pre comms were excellent, he came with so many cool ideas, was incredibly friendly, chilled and engaging; everyone on the workshop seemed to have a great time, and the pictures were immense.

Would highly recommend Steve, looking forward to creating with him again very soon!

I attended a group shoot at F/8 Studio with Steve as the tutor.

It was a great session, re natural light with portraits.

Steve has a very easy going approach, good communication skills and fun to work with.

I did a few things I had never done before, ie, shooting from up a ladder.

I would definitely recommend Steve and would certainly work with Steve again.

Overall a fun session.

Today I attended Steve’s Natural Light workshop with Tink Kaos as model and held at f/8 Studio in Gloucester. Steve creates a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere that ensured we all felt comfortable and able to communicate freely about any aspect of the session and subject matter. Plenty of useful tips along the way as he took us through a progression from portrait, fashion and boudoir culminating in art nude. With each set Steve would suggest settings, take demo shots and then share those before each participant had their own chance to do their thing. He provided input to back of camera reviews as we went. Whatever your experience if you are interested in Natural Light photography which I am then I think you would benefit from attending one of his workshops. Thoroughly recommended.

Today I had a natural light workshop with Steve. It was very relaxed and friendly, and there was plenty of tuition and explanation of how the session would work. Both Steve and the model were very accommodating to a newbie to this type of photography.

I would recommend Steves workshops to everyone.

It was so good to work with Steve again, I have worked with him before on two duo shoots with Simone.

We did a mixture of styles.. luckily we had some great light on the day, with the sun beaming through the window which made some great natural light images my fav!

Steve is awesome to work with chilled, friendly, professional and we had a laugh.

I love the images on the back of the camera and I can't wait to see the final edits.

What can I say? Another great shoot and more fantastic images. This shoot was based on 70's male erotica. It took some planning as I had to wait for my body hair to grow so as to be authentic.

Steve totally understood what I was trying to achieve and suggested plenty of ideas ahead of the shoot. I think it helps that we have worked together a number of times so we understand how the other works, and what we enjoy capturing. Steve is the master of using natural light to create atmosphere, intensity and mystery.

If you after a boudoir or dudoir shoot, Steve should be number 1 on your contact list. I highly recommend him, and I guess the proof of that is that we are already planning shoot number 5!

Great to work with Steve again. We had been trying to get our diaries to align to make this shoot happen for a while, but it was definitely worth the wait. The theme was 'dudoir', using natural light and shade to create some artistic images.

There is something to be said for working with photographers on multiple projects. There is an understanding of how each other works and this makes for a productive but relaxed session. I love Steve's style and his engaging approach.

I've only seen a few of the final pictures so far but having seen shots on the back of the camera, I know that Steve has captured some fantastic images... yet again.

Looking forward to the next time we work together.

It was great to work with Steve again. This time in a disused church.

The aim of the shoot was to play with light and shade using natural light coming through the many different windows. Of course, we had to make the most of the setting to create some intense shots around the theme of conflicting with the concept of religion.

I am looking forward to seeing the final edits, though the back of camera previews were great. Steve is great at checking in throughout the shoot to make sure you are both on the same page. It was great to be able to get out and shoot again, and we have other ideas in the pipeline for when we can get into the studios (not long now).

I recently had the pleasure of a photo shoot with Steve Rolfe. As a pin up model I tend to work with female photographers but upon meeting Steve I felt at ease and comfortable. We liased before the day of the shoot so we had clear direction from the start and I was able to put forward my own ideas. Steve conducted himself in a wholly professional manner during the shoot and put me at ease throughout. As a photographer he understands how to capture the best and most flattering angles and the images from are shoot are phenomenal. I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to work with Steve, he has helped me develop as a model and boosted my confidence in front of the camera. I hope to collaborate with him on future projects and can highly recommend him!

This was my first shoot in a long time so I was excited in the lead up but nervous when the day arrived. I had met with Steve a few weeks prior to discuss what our ideas for the day were but Steve was still coming up with suggestions the day before which was great.

The shoot was booked for 3 hours so we had plenty of time to try out looks and themes which ranged from fashion to corporate and even underwear. Steve was engaging, including me throughout. It felt like a creative partnership. We took loads of images so now it’s a case of waiting for the editing process to conclude but the previews are promising and I’m looking forward to utilising the shots for my business website, professional social media and portfolio.

Highly recommend Steve. He’s fun, relaxed and creative. I’ve already got ideas for some future projects and can’t wait to bring them to life. I’m so lucky he’s local - keep an eye on your phone for the next coffee meeting request Steve...

I've shot with Steve at the New Upper Mills Studio for the first time and what a lovely guy to work with!

He was friendly, professional, and very laid back which made a very enjoyable shoot.

Steve arrived on time, well prepared with great ideas in mind. We've created a nice variety of images that I can't wait to see!
