References for unit17 studio

JD tuition

My first visit to Unit17 today to run a 4-hour tutorial session with Misuzu and two photographers.

Spacious (the high ceiling is unusual, and very welcome), well-equipped, and friendly, I'm really looking forward to an excuse to revisit the studio.

Many thanks to Richard, who hosted today. I'll be back. And anyone needing a reasonably-priced venue for portraits or art nudes in the area - this is the place.

Super little studio well located in Nottingham. This was my first visit, attending a workshop run by John Duder and Misuzu.

The syudio is spacious, well equipped and welcoming. Richard was on hand throughout our visit, mainly staying in the background but more than willing to lend a hand to assist whenever needed.

I look forward to coming back to work here again.

I had the pleasure of my 1st shoot today, at Unit17 Studio. Richard and Lee have a fantastic set up there and are happy to move stuff around, or bring in more lights. With a massive window at one end, it is perfect for natural light shots. Plenty of drinks and there was Jaffa Cakes, which is always a good sign. I can 100% recommend this studio,

I had an amazing shoot with Richard! Booked last min and pre cons were great. He has a strong image of what he wants to shoot but doesn’t let that stop him exploring new ideas and asking any I may have! Very professional photographer who is also a great laugh and laid back. The shoot shot by I had that much fun. Very attentive with refreshments and making sure I was comfortable throughout. I hope we get to work together again soon! For more fantastic images.

I had the pleasure of being the first model to shoot with Richard post lockdown and highly recommend him and his studio. Pre shoot communication was excellent and Richards directions to the studio were very easy to follow. Richards hospitality was remarkably and he was very attentive to my comfort throughout the shoot. I was very impressed with his attention to detail and the quality of the images he produced. I learnt a lot from talking to him and he clearly is a skilled photographer who is able to give clear direction to get the images he is aiming for. The shoot was very relaxed and time went so quickly. The studio is great too with good lighting, equipment and props, dressing room and free parking. I recommend both very highly and hope to shoot again.

Another epic shoot with Richard at Unit17! I absolutely love working with him. This time we did some filming for his YouTube channel and a creative shoot afterwards. Richard is a very talented photographer and really knows what works and what doesn't. I love being creative with him and experimenting with different props and fashion poses. This is where my true passion lies with fashion photography and it is great to be able to explore this genre even more with him.

Richard is fun, creative, polite and just a joy to work with. The studio itself is spacious and versatile. There are various backdrops and clothes and props you can use whilst there and it is great fun to explore. Richard makes sure you are looked after and that you are warm enough. Highly recommended from me! Thanks Richard!

Another amazing shoot with Richard! We have shot twice together now and every time we shoot I am blown away by his skills. He is incredibly talented and really knows his stuff. We worked on some more fashion and fashion nude work and we just gel so well together. He is a gentleman and I love working with him. I hope we get to work together again real soon. Thanks Richard!

What a truly awesome studio and photographer!! I applied to Richard’s casting on the Saturday night for a shoot the following day and I was so glad I applied and that he choose me to shoot with him! His pre comms are truly on point, he sent me pictures of items of clothing he liked that I owned and I also brought extra items to experiment with.

When I arrived he came down to greet me and was lovely and carried my heavy bag for me. We sat and chatted for a bit and got to know each other and we instantly clicked. Sharing ideas and pictures that inspired us. During the shoot he made sure I felt comfortable and I felt looked after. He is a true gentleman and I felt safe in the studio with him. He offered me drinks and even before I came to the studio he asked me if I wanted anything getting for food and drink which was so lovely. During each set of images he showed me the back of the camera and I was blown away by how amazing they are. He really knows his lighting and composition. He is very talented and just a joy to work with.

The studio itself is a great space, a blank canvas you can really get your imagination going! He has a rail of clothes also that you can work with and some accessories too. A really great collection of lighting and a comfortable sofa to sit on in between sets. The large windows give incredible natural light too.

I would highly recommend working with Richard and also this fabulous studio! I hope I get the chance to go back and work with Richard again very soon. Thank you Richard!

Well where do i start... I worked with Richard on a recent shoot at his studio Unit17 and it was brilliant! Rich was very hospitable and considerate not to mention so super talented and one of the best photographers iv worked with in 9years of my modeling career.

Richards passion for photography goes above and beyond anything iv experienced, he knows exactly what he wants to shoot and his knowledge of photography makes it a breeze and truly shows in his images.

10/10 Highly recommend as a photographer and studio space.

Misuzu

I had a really amazing shoot with Richard yesterday. It was arranged fairly short notice but we were able to get the details of the shoot finalised very quickly and easy due to great communication.

Richard collected me from the station in Nottingham and we shot in the studio for four hours. We had a really fun and productive shoot. I knew exactly what sort of shots Richard was going for and we worked together to achieve the results. I've already seen some of the pictures and they're amazing!

Richard is so easygoing and friendly. His knowledge about photography and the photography world is amazing. We chatted about photographers that inspired him and I came away with lots of people's work to look in to.

It's always good to have a shoot where you enjoy your time working, but also get outstanding images from it too. I will definitely be working with Richard again soon and recommend him to all models :)

Ahhh where to start! I was a little bit nervous about shooting with Richard only because there was no references... however I took the plunge and omg I'm so damn glad I did.

Richard was so lovely. He was on time his pre comms were super the studio was so nice cosy and warm and has alot of potential.

I have so many good things to day about this studio and Richard who owns the studio. Todays 5 hour shoot was super fun and flew by

But we managed to get at least I reckon 5 different looks done which I'm so pleased with.

I highly recommend Richard and his studio and I cannot wait to come back again. Thanks so much for having me!!!.
