From a natural light shoot in an Edinburgh tenement. I was staying there while making a soundtrack for a new French play. The room next to the one in which this shot was taken was filled with the sound of a concert pianist practising Bach and Brahms for a forthcoming recital. I was inspired by the music and by Belle's exquisite presence. That kind of sums up why I make photographs!
