I have had a fantastic experience shooting for a whole day with Doug on my recent tour in Ireland. Doug very. kindly fetched me from Dublin and we drove to Leintrim to shoot from his stunning and full of magic location!

Doug is an artist and all the themes he plans to shoot have a back story and also meaning. I really enjoyed working together and hope too get to work together again in the future!

Working with him was not only a great honour and privilege but also a very grounding experience of inner growth. Doug goes deep with his creations. Every detail from start to finish is carefully thought through and this is something he allows you to be a part of. So when you see a finished piece what you’re really seeing is a journey of both the photographer and model. A part of their soul. Doug is such a lovely person - I loved his ho wary and his genuineness! He is clearly a VERY passionate about creating ART - and what I say art I mean, really well thoughtful pieces of art, with meaning and content.

Doug brought some really wonderful pieces with him that I was to model with as well as a clear plan of what he wanted to get! I f course we added some collaboration and the shoot evolved into something really wonderful! It was so great for me as a model to have a shoot that was so challenging - a shoot that tested my creativity and imagination! I LOVED IT!

Doug himewf was very professional and respectful throughout- always made sure I was happy and there were lots of great conversations and laughs and interest during the shoot which just added to how great it was!

I would highly recommend working with Doug and I really hope I get to do so again soon!

Doug is that kind of creative art-making genius that literally any model with a true interest in conceptual and story-telling images will just adore working with! I am so glad, that after first chatting some time ago, we managed to make our very first shoot together work because it was literally packed with so much inspiration; I just cannot put it into words!

There’s obviously a crossover between art and photography: the work that Doug does literally merged them in the most relatable possible ways. Yes, the process of the image/moment being captured may be photography relative to the way he carefully assembled the light/set and freezes the moment... But there’s no question about it that his work has insane mind-energising value which makes it art: no arguments! I seriously cannot comprehend the admiration I have for what he does to bring a project to life, and can only express my unlimited gratitude for having the opportunity to be a part of it! When I arrived at the station: Doug kindly collected me where we travelled on to his home/studio. I had my own space to crash with my things/do styling touch-ups and all the relevant model things. His place is just an absolute palace for photographic quality and we were blessed with gorgeous natural light for some of the first concepts. When we chatted over the ideas properly over refreshments; I was already excited about being a significant attribute of these clearly well-thought project briefs. I just adore the opportunity to be expressive and ‘zone’ into a particular story, which is very much what Doug works around. His attention to detail in terms of the sets he’d built and visions he put forth in direction was simply exquisite... Here’s a gent who knows EXACTLY what he’s aiming to capture. :)

As the shoot progressed, we worked at a totally pressure-free pace with Doug encouraging breaks and tea-top-ups/nibbles on a regular basis. We vacated to the studio where he managed the visuals just as superbly; yet allowing me to flow and interpret the concept in my poses too. It worked like a dream! :D He’s undoubtedly one of the most professional and kind people that any model could hope to work with in this industry. I say it from the heart when write and completely appreciate the fabulous hospitality I was shown as well as enjoying bountiful moments of teamwork-flow, common-ground chatter/creative discussions and just generally the fantastic treatment I received as a model! A top, respectable gentleman who passes infinite respect to the models he shoots with. I’d scream my recommendation from the moon if I could! :D

I had a magical 2 days with Doug at his home recently. We had planned the shoot for a couple of months and Doug was very keen for me to have a lot of input into the shoot. He spends a lot of time planning the concepts and it shows in the results.

It is something different than the usual pretty stuff I am doing. I like to act a little and with Doug it is always about the acting about the story ... I was very excited when Doug Ross contacted me to do a shoot together. We had a meeting to discuss all aspects of the shoot and Doug's professionalism and creativity was clearly evident from this. He very kindly collected me and dropped me home after the shoot. I enjoyed the shoot immensely as Doug also used music throughout the process. This was a mega two day, idea extravaganza shoot at his wonderful home by gorgeous, inspirational forests and lake. Doug as always is the perfect host, wonderful to talk with and I had the perfect shoot with him. The images are always full of emotion, meaning, and the shoot is relaxed but oh-so-productive.

I had the most amazing day shooting with Doug. We had messaged beforehand on some rough themes and he had transformed them into some inspirational ideas. He is a true artist and takes such care to create meaning in his work. He created so many props for the day and I'm sure we could have shot for many more hours. Everything flew by and before I knew it we had created some powerful and emotional art. I am really looking forward to working with him again - it is such an experience!!

I had the chance to live a great human experience with Doug during these 2 days shoot that I spent with him. It was really a special opportunity because Doug always prepares and chooses the different themes of the shoot together with the model. We had than the possibility to choose themes and concepts that were relevant to both of us and had a deep resonance for both of us. In other words as well before the shoot as during it we were through a real mutual creative process, which makes this experience comparable to none, and requires a total commitment of the model.

I feel privileged that I could work with Doug and that he allowed me to push my boundaries, in many different ways.

I hope we can work together again and I recommend Doug to every model willing to explore a deep approach of modelling and of the creative process.

Its hard to find words adequate enough to describe the experience of working with this man. Short of saying he's a creative wizard and genius, there has simply been nothing to compare two days of being in his company and collaborating on work from the sublime to the totally bizarre. The work he produces is EXACTLY the genre of modelling I had dared to dream of when I entered this career. To work with Doug is a privilege that I will be forever grateful, not only did I learn so much about costume, and bringing more theatre into my modelling, but most importantly I learned how to tap into my own creativity in a way that had eluded me for most of my life. I feel like I have come away with more knowledge and understanding about the creative process in two days, than in the past ten years. Communication has been nothing less an excellent and regular, arrangements and logistics where all taken care of and care and consideration for my comfort and well being at all times. Doug fully understands how physically and mentally draining modelling can be and makes sure you have time to rest and restore. His energy is boundless, his creativity is infinite, his charm and sense of humour makes you feel completely at ease and his down to earth view of life is refreshing and interesting. After two days of shooting I feel like I've just experienced what it means to be TRULY and wholly engaged in producing incredible and very thought provoking pieces of ART. I can not recommend this man highly enough, if you get the opportunity to work with him, be prepared to experience something and someone entirely MAGICAL !

I got the opportunity to shoot with Doug Ross in Ireland, we were in the middle of no where at this beautiful location. I must say it was one hell of a shoot!

We did really well! So well that Doug already told me he has a few favourites! The shoot went really well with each of us bouncing ideas around the themes we wanted to work with. We got through each set quite quickly and moved on to another one. I absolutely loved working with Doug! He is intelligent, nice, creative, funny...The list could go on. He also produces some great work! Really stunning work. I went to see his exhibition and WOW! It was just brilliant.

I will definitely be working with this guy in the future and I 100% recommend him to other models!
