Just found out about thurston lodge from a couple of people and wanted to shoot a set there then Amber posted a call to shoot there as its about to close which is a real shame as its a great location with plenty of options for shoots, if any one has a few thou spare and wants to buy it to continue as a location happy days

I desperately wanted Jodie to experience the magic of Thurston Lodge. After what must have seemed like a lot of begging Mark kindly squeezed us into a busy diary.

We are both incredibly grateful to Mark who was once again the perfect host.

Both Jodie and I had an experience that'll we will cherish for a long time as I'm sure all that visit Thurston do.

mark is always around if you need him but leaves you to enjoy your shoot!

I had my first experience of the remarkable Thurston Lodge and the ever helpful Mark last week, it has been on my WLTWW for some time but I had not been lucky enough to visit until now.

Pre-shoot comms were all dealt with quickly and comprehensively and Mark could not be more accommodating, even when an eleventh hour change of date threatened (thankfully we were able to keep to the original plan in the end).

Thurston Lodge has a great variety of shooting locations as can be seen from their portfolio and all are kept to a very high standard. Durring the shoot Mark is happy to leave you to it but is available and helpful should he be needed. Oh and excellent tea also!

I love this place as a shooting location. So much atmosphere and Mark could not be more welcoming. So sad to hear it may not be available after the end of October.

Better get your booking in quick folks before it's too a late.

I had a great first shoot today at Thurston Lodge. Mark was incredibly accomodating and has prepared his property beautifully. There are so many great angles and locations that you could come back here time and again and never run out of new ideas. Highly recommended.

This was my second shoot at the Lodge. It is a considerable distance from me and that I make the journey in order to shoot at this wonderful house and home is itself a strong recommendation.

Mark is a wonderful host and in addition to his normal attention, he had clearly also taken considerable care to ensure the shoot could proceed in as safe a manner as is possible in this Covid environment. It was enitirely understandable that the Covid situation meant that the master bedroom could not be made available to us, however Mark had made too smaller bedrooms available in lieu and anyway there are so many opportunities at the Lodge that this restriction made little difference to our shoot.

We are so lucky to have access to this truely delightful family home, full of splendid shooting opportunities and the most delighful, tastefully chosen furnature and accessories.

Totally recommended.

I had a shoot at Thurston Lodge yesterday and enjoyed it enormously. I saw images of Thurston Lodge and it looked really good so I decided to try it for myself. Sometimes one could get disappointed when there are high expectations. I wasn't. On the contrary, Thurston Lodge looked stunning in real life too. So many rooms and areas to choose from, so much to do. One could spend a whole day shooting there and not to run out of ideas. Mark was very helpful and attentive too.

Had my first shoot today at Thurston Lodge and what a fantastic property it is.

Mark the owner was very pleasant, helpful and a perfect host (and make a cracking mug of coffee 👍🏻🙂).

The different rooms gave plenty of scope for a variety of shots and had plenty of natural light.

I highly recommend shooting at Thurston Lodge and I look forward to shooting there again.

My 2nd visit to Thurston Lodge and had another great photoshoot.

As before, it's such a amazing venue - fabulous features and great natural light. After 2 shoots I still haven't scratched the surface on the creative options that are available for shooting around the house, and I haven't even explored the outdoor options yet, so I will definitely be planning more photoshoots here in the future.

I had my second shoot at Thurston Lodge and it is such an amazing location for a photoshoot. Mark is a superb host providing us with refreshments on a regular basis. The time flew by and I am really looking forward to arranging another shoot there soon.

My second outing to the beautiful Thurston Lodge & this time I had the place for most of the day. As before, Mark was the perfect host discretely providing refreshments & stoking the fire. Hopefully I shall be back again when the weather is better so I can make use of the outdoor spaces in addition to the great indoor spaces.

It was well worth the long journey to Thurston. Mark was a perfect host, he kept the much welcome fire going, and provided refreshments, but otherwise kept out of our away and let us get on with it.

The location is very good, with a number of different rooms to provide variety and plenty of natural light.

Highly recommended and would definitely return.

Just had my 1st visit and photoshoot at Thurston Lodge, and it leaves me questioning myself as to why on earth I left it so long to work here, especially as the venue is so close to me!!

It's such a lovely venue, as demonstrated by the fantastic and varied images that people are continually creating here. So many rooms, and options within each room, providing so many shoot options. And that doesn't factor in the outdoor areas which I hope to make use of on a future visit when the weather is better.

And even though the weather was a bit dull and grey outside, the natural light around the house was great.

Mark was a friendly and helpful host, kept us supplied with drinks and biscuits, kept the fire going, was on hand if we needed anything and essentially left us to get on with the photoshoot.

I look forward to returning to the venue in the not too distant future.

What a wonderful shoot today... Mark as always was amazing, chatty to the point i stayed after for a chat:) Thurston lodge its self is beautiful there isn't anything i can say that the pictures of it doesn't already say.... Just stunning place. Cant wait to come back again.

P.S I created a new move there today called 'The Nina' I challenge you all hahah

What a wonderful place to shoot. So many shoot possibilities that I shall be going back again and again. Mark is a great host and couldn't do enough for us.

This was the first time shooting at Thurston Lodge, I was welcomed by Mark into his amazing house/studio, I was shown around what rooms we could use, there was tea or coffee offered on arrival with biscuits and chocolate bars.

Mark Leaves you to your shoot and periodically checking that everything is ok or if I needed help with anything which was nice.

I worked with what natural light that was available most of the time only shooting with flash where I had to.

Yes I would shoot there again and recommend, the property is amazing.

I had SUCH an enjoyable 2 and a half days of photography studio sessions at Thurston Lodge, on my first ever trip recently!

I am always a little nervous heading to a venue for the first time, especially if I haven't had the chance to visit prior- but I was not disappointed. I was blown away by such a beautiful Period property, which oozes class, elegance and mystic.

I was so grateful to be able to hire this gorgeous property for the three days and I know that each photographer that was introduced to the home greatly enjoyed their stay.

Mark is such a wonderful host and owner. He has created such a gorgeous home which is a joy to work in. He is very kind, accommodating and respectful. The hospitality offered was second to none and he was always offering refreshments - and fattening me up on chocolate bars! :) I loved the privacy of the photoshoots but also that Mark was not far away if needed, it was a perfect balance.

I would absolutely love to return in the Spring 2020 onwards and really hope to see you then :)

This was my second shoot at this great location. Mark was welcoming and offered coffee on arrival. I was shooting with Helen Diaz and we quickly got into shooting in the bedroom with the awesome four poster bed and a large window giving good natural light even though it was a wet cloudy day (on a previous shoot it was sunny and the available light was even better). We also shot in the bath and bathroom and finished in the hall downstairs. The weather was not conducive for an outdoor shoot but the garden is an additional great shooting area. Mark is attentive and never far away whilst not being intrusive. He maintains the property to a high standard great for photography. Highly recommended for models and photographers. You will not be disappointed.
