Earlier today I had the total pleasure of being able to work together with Emma. WOW. Here is a model that really knows how to be an art nude model and constantly delivers with poses that are wonderful.

All pre-shoot communication was great and on point, important when planning a shoot from a different continent. We shot at her home which had so much potential and great light that all the photography was achieved with the available light, both of our choices, and provided many backgrounds without clutter.

Emma herself not only is very professional model but is also such a lovely soft spoken person and was welcoming and accommodating from the moment we met. On the modelling side, she really knows her stuff and followed all suggestions that I came up with but also gave great input about maximizing the space and light. However this is a model who knows how to move and play to the camera. Her soulful face matched with her fabulous physique are made to be captured by the camera.

Sincerely wish I could shoot again with her outdoors but maybe have to wait for her to come to Canada, where the wilderness will be a wonderful backdrop to this awesome model.

Thanks Emma and the pooch Hank, you both were great subjects and loved working with you.

I don't know how many people read these hard-chosen sentences or just check the 'good' numbers against any bad. Maybe it's just me ... I'm now considered quite old so maybe a little cynicism is setting in?

But back to Emma. Pre-shoot communication was excellent. I asked her to consider travel time between our shoot and the ones before and after which she did - excellent admin.

I was quite considering this would be my last model shoot for various reasons and I have to say I wasn't in top form but Emma was brilliant and despite my constant tweaking and disappointment that I couldn't get the lighting just right, Emma never showed any irritation and actually made the shoot a success.

She is brilliant at posing and they reflect the character you're trying to create in your viewfinder. If she returns to Ireland in the future I would be easily tempted to forget my retirement and book a shoot.

Emma is a very professional model and pleasant person to work with. Both the communication before the shoot and the shoot itself went very smoothly. She poses very naturally on directions, but even without directions she knows perfectly which poses work and how the light falls on her body and face. If you are looking for a model who can give an expressive facial expression in addition to a good pose, she is the perfect model. A great pleasure to work with such a person. I look forward to a next collaboration with her.

After a first collaboration last summer and a workshop in November Emma Helena visited me and my friend Hans Dethmers again for a few days of photography. In between the rain showers we worked outdoor making reflections at differnent locations. The results made me very very happy!!

I have worked with Emma so many times, I have actually completely lost track of the actual amount. We have posed together for other photographers, she has posed for me, I for her and we have done self-portraits together. So basically any possible combination :)
