A bittersweet reference for Penguin Studios. I ran another of my portrait workshops there, my workshop attendees loved it and the place is fabulous. The bitter part is that this is the last one I will run there, as Penguin is closing down.

Studio owners James & Steve I thank you for creating such a fabulous space, warm and welcoming creative environment where I have had so many great shoots and workshop sessions. I’m truly sad to see you close but wish both of you the very best for any future endeavours.

Massively recommended, as always. Ok minus one point for closing down ;-)

I was back again to the "Palace of Penguins" for a studio workshop group shoot. I've lost count of the number of shoots I've done here and the place is well equipped and has helpful guys James and Steve that ensure you get help when you need it and left alone when you want.

Really clean, good selection of kit and certainly warm enough.

Recommended for sure, and I've booked more dates for my studio groups in April, May and June.

I were delighted to be attending an all day shoot at Penguin Studios. I arrived and parked up in the ample of spaces there were. In the window of the studio there was a bright light up penguin sign which made the place easy to find. I were greeted by James and Barry (-the photographer)- both with beaming smiles!

Firstly James made me a cup of tea and we all chatted for a while before we got set shooting! James was really friendly, laid back and easy to talk to. For the first set James was basically the assistant, he was checking the images for Barry and I and controlling the main lights to help ensure the clever shot had the correct results. For EVERY set change James was there on board to change all the sets, the lighting and the back drops making it a lot easier for Barry and also allowing us to go over the next idea, having said this James also allowed us our own privacy. The studio is a lovely open plan space with many different areas, some really lovely personal touches and I LOVE the penguin theme. I will defiantly be returning and would recommend it to all other creatives.

I've been to Penguin Stu6ios twice more since the last reference I left 6 months ago. I modelled there back in January for a duo weekend with Ashley Ashton and I came again today for a 1-1 shoot with Barry. The studio is fantastic and is well worth my travel! James is always on hand to help, he is very welcoming and has a great sense of humour. The studio is spacious, clean, tidy, warm and has excellent equipment to ensure that photographers get the best, high quality images. Highly recommended by me!

Visited Penguin Stu6ios for the first time on a cold winters afternoon. I walked in to meet James and I was met by a spacious warm room with glorious afternoon light filling the room. I couldn’t wait to start shooting fearing the sun would disappear behind the clouds. The studio has a stunning natural light space as well as all the typical studio lighting, various backdrops and props. James was always at hand with cups of tea and assistance when asked but otherwise he remained at a respectful distance, leaving the models and photographer to concentrate on some great image making.

Had a lovely duo weekend here at penguin studios .

The guys are great and are on hand to help whenever neccasscary .

James was in and out offering cups of tea and coffee,making sure we were warm and was extremely attentive to models needs.

Really enjoy shooting here and wouldbt hesitate to shoot here again !,

I was looking for a studio in the Aylesbury area to do a fashion shoot and found Penguin, which I booked. This is a well equipped studio with plenty of backdrops, lights and props. Pre-communication was great.

James who I delt with was very professional, helpful, friendly and supplied lots of tea on the day. The studio was warm. Model changing facilities were good. Parking was right outside.

We captured plenty of great images using many backgrounds, props and a fan.

Will definitely book this studio again when shooting in the area. Highly recommended.

Back at Penguin for another shoot. As always James provided plenty of helpful support when needed. The studio was warm and clean with a good range of lighting, modifiers, backgrounds and the bed/boudoir set. The modified multi-roll background support system really has improved the workability of the multi-roll backgrounds, even with taller models.

When the model asked for an iron for one of the outfits, James had both iron and ironing board to hand. I enjoyed a rather good cup of tea too!

Can't believe its been so long since I last shot here, will have to do something about that.

Just had my second shoot at Penguin studios and found it a perfect location to work in .. professional.. inviting.. safe and friendly. I felt completely at ease during my time there and everything i needed was catered for .. food ... drinks .. heating.. a lovely model changing room with ample mirrors and good lighting .. even nice little touches like selfie ring lights and stands.

Plenty of equipment, lighting and sets.. well everything you could need really.

Hope to visit again soon

I had the pleasure of modelling at Penguin Studios for the first time last weekend with Barry Davison-Mallard. Despite it being an almost two hour car journey for me, it was very easy to find and there was ample parking. I was very impressed with the size of the studio - it is very spacious inside! I loved spotting all of the penguins dotted around the studio too. That put a smile on my face! There is a decent size changing room to get ready - it has a lovely tall mirror inside for those all important selfies haha! It was of a perfect temperature inside, very clean and tidy and plenty of furniture and props to use as well as high quality lights, backdrops and equipment. James was welcoming, friendly and had a great sense of humour. He was on hand to help us but also allowed us to get on with our shoot. An overall very pleasant experience and I would certainly love to visit the studio again. Highly recommended! Thanks again :)

I did a photoshoot at Penguin Studios to take a quite unusual series of pictures.

It is easy to find and there is plenty of parking.

The studio is well equipped with four or five distinct areas - a couple of areas with a range of backgrounds, a boudoir, a mantelpiece and a living room area. There is a full range of lighting equipment and attachments. There is plenty of natural light that can be "blacked out" for sessions where the photographer wants to control lighting. A separate private area for models to change and do make-up.

The part I most welcomed was how friendly and helpful the staff were. I needed help at several points in the session, with some lighting I was not sure how to create. Steve was there literally as much as I wanted and I did not see him once at any other time.

This studio is a great place to take photos at, for both photographers and models.

Wow - what a studio and with help on hand when needed and nothing was too much trouble. The Studio was very spacious and really well equipped.

I would absolutely recommend the Stu6io and James to anyone, and would love to work there again when I am up in the area.

Booked the studio for a shoot with a model who was travelling through the area. There's been a few simple revisions to the studio setup in recent months and that makes it even more flexible to work with. It still has great space and plenty of lights. Certainly had good shoot and my model was also impressed with the space.

James and Steve where both on site during the shoot, and only had to be asked if help was needed to move lights or bits of furniture around. For the rest of the time they kept out of the way and let me get on with the shoot.

Definitely recommended - again

A fantastic shoot at Penguin studios today. Both James and Steve were present when we arrived and have to say the studio was absolutely immaculate! The new dressing room and studio floor looked amazing too! Both guys were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble with setting up lighting or moving furniture etc. The Studio was warm, had an alexa for our music preference and had plenty of different areas to shoot in. We came for Boudoir so used the bed set and chaise longue for the shoot. The 3 hours flew. Big thank you to James and Steve for having us. Would highly recommend shooting here :) x

I've shot at Penguin a few times now but due to covid there was a year or so gap.

Lovely to see the studio have a better dressing room area now.

Studio is very tidy and has plenty in the way of sets and backdrops. Great amounts of space too.

Will definitely be back again this year

Had a shoot at Penguin studios today with Steve, What a great studio, Fab set up, Light, Airy and really spacious.

Great selection of backdrops, Lights, Props, We even got round to using the smoke machine which was great fun.

I would highly recommend The Penguin Studios and would love to shoot here again, Easy to find and plenty of parking, Will be back 💯 Jade :)

Had a wonderful Shoot at Penguin Stu6ios with Steve. The Studio was very spacious and really well equipped with several different back drops, set ups, and props to use. We were able to create a wide range of different images because of these various set ups. Steve was very polite and friendly and made me feel welcome at ease the entire duration of the shoot, and the four hours we had, went by in a flash. Would absolutely recommend the Studio and Steve to anyone, and would love to work here again.

Steve and James did an amazing job with prior setup for the product video needed for a client. with an array of lighting to choose from aswell as a motorized green screen background made things significantly fast and easy to work!
