A travelled up to Scotland to work with Lilith at Pavilion Studio.

Meeting Barrie was a pleasure, his knowledge of photography and especially lighting is fantastic. Barrie was very helpful in setting up lights and helping re arrange the studio for my benfit.

The studio is a great space to work in, plenty of space, great lighting and loads of props, if needed.

Thank you Barrie for all your help and making the shoot run so smoothly.

Just had another session with Carla Monaco at Pavilion Studios. I've visited the studio several times over the past few years. If you get the chance to work at Pavilion you'll be working in the best professional studio Scotland has to offer. Pavilion Studios offers a very flexible space to work. The modelling days provide the opportunity to work with the very best and most experienced professional models working in the UK at this time. Expert assistance is on hand when you need it and it's a great experience working there. It's warm, comfortable space to work in and the coffee's great. Thanks again Barrie and Scotti for a superb shoot.

Pavilion Studio is a great venue.

Well equipped, a helpful, friendly owner and a cute dog.

Having never done a shoot there I immediately felt happy and relaxed in the environment and the possibilities are limited only by your imagination.

Just had my third shoot at Pavilion Photographic Studio with Carla Monaco during her Scottish tour. Pavilion is probably one of the longest established studios in Scotland and it's by far the best I've worked in. Owners Barry & Fiona Spence are both highly accomplished photographers and consummate professionals and this is reflected in their studio. The equipment is high end Broncolor kit and like the rest of the studio it is kept in immaculate condition. Fabulous space to work in. Highly recommended.

Ballerina Erica Mulkern

This was my second time shooting at Pavilion and just as last time Barrie made me feel at home straight away. I stayed with him and Fiona which makes a huge difference in finding a home away from home! Their lovely dog Elsa is a treat too. He was helpful throughout the day but also knows when to step back. Barrie has excellent timing and really understands when a dancer's peak position is. He is thoughtful and meticulous in his work, no paparazzi style shooting!

We are looking at 2023 dates so keep your eyes peeled people!

As always would highly recommend this lovely studio. :)

It was my first time shooting at Pavilion and Barrie made me feel at home instantly. He was so helpful throughout the day but without being imposing on photographers. We had a great chat and he is just such a sweet guy. The studio is warm and comfortable and the changing room is lovely. We are arranging plans for me to come back with is very exciting. Would highly recommend :)

One of my favourite studios to come too! I love hosting studio days here, Barrie and Fiona are absolute gems, great hosts and Elsa is the cutest studio dog!

I had a shoot at Barrie & Fiona’s Pavilion studio when Lilith Etch was visiting. I had contacted Barrie many months ago enquiring if Lilith would be visiting, and obviously with Covid all plans were in chaos. However Barrie contacted me late last year about a visit and thankfully my plans meant I could make it to Livingstone.

The studio is located in a fabulous building and is very well equipped both for studio flash but also have some fantastic natural light, something I took advantage of.

Barrie was super helpful in helping me with various set ups, light positioning and equipment use. He also ensure I was kept topped up on my coffee. When Barrie had to leave, Fiona was on hand to take over the reins and ensure everything ran smoothly.

Barrie and Fiona are great hosts and I was very fortunate to have some social time with them over a fantastic Indian meal at a local restaurant.

Great studio, fabulous and friendly hosts and a studio I will definitely be back to shoot at, even though I’m across the Irish Sea.

A very enjoyable afternoon in an excellent studio - the height and width are superb, enabling precise set-up of the wide range of lights/modifiers (all on dollies) for the exact lighting effect desired. That, together with a good choice of backgrounds and props meant the shoot went like a dream. Barrie was extremely helpful, everything worked and he makes a great cup of coffee. Totally recommended.

What a great first visit to the Pavilion studio. I was there for a day and a half during my tour to Edinburgh. Barry and Fiona where kind enough to offer for me to stay with them whilst I was working at the studio, which is always a big help and they are lovely hosts. The studio itself is a really comfortable place to work. It is well heated for the colder months which is lovely. I really enjoyed my time there. Loved meeting couple new photographers as well. I will definitely be back.

My first shoot here - I was enticed by the model - but pretty sure it won't be my last.

A nice big working space with plenty of equipment and a good range of backgrounds. Barrie was friendly and helpful, but let us just get on with it.

I'd recommend this studio - if only for the Dalek :)

I had a wonderfully relaxed shoot at Pavilion yesterday. I had already had it recommended to me when I moved to Edinburgh and I can see why! I said this at the time, but it is one of the nicest studios I have ever worked in. Great space, lots of room to myself, excellent facilities - I couldn't recommend it enough.

Big thanks to Barrie for booking me for a workshop there and shoutout to his lovely dog (who was adorable and excellent to fuss over when not shooting)! :)

I just had a 2-day studio event at Pavilion and had a great time. The events are always super well organised and the studio is beautiful! Either Barrie or Fiona are always on hand to assist with anything either myself or photographers could need and it's a really welcoming, relaxed atmosphere in which to work.

I shot for two full days and everything was totally different so there is plenty of room for variety and it's also a rarity to have Such a well equipped studio and also have the option of shooting natural light too!

Really love shooting here and am happy to recommend to others, I hope to be back again next year!

Barrie was an wonderful help here, he picked me up from the station and his pre comms were absolutely great, he was very relaxed and he understood it was last minute and was just as helpful and wonderful as he could be!

The studio was nice and warm on arrival and absolutely spotless. Theres a dressing room for privacy and so i can be organised for when the photographer arrived. He was on the cups of teas and kept popping his head in to ask if we needed any assistance (or more tea!).

He has some great kit in his studio, me and the photographers couldnt run out of ideas with many backdrops, experimental and safe.

Barrie and his wife (and their lovely dog) dropped me back to the train station safely and were so lovely.

Thanks Barrie, defintely a studio i would recommend and ill be back again!

It had been a few years since my last visit and I was made to feel very welcome at Pavilion Photographic studio which is such a beautiful space and building to use.

I was booked here for half a day with DonaldM during my tour and had such an enjoyable day. Barrie was very kind and on hand to help when needed. The lighting set up was wonderful.

The facilities and model changing room were perfect and I loved the photographic results on the day. Parking was a breeze.

Thankyou Barrie and look forward to the next time :)

I have had one of the best 'studio day's' experience to date with Pavilion Photographic studio!

Truly looked after from start to finish. Barrie and his wife are beyond hospitable! You feel part of the family!!

Organisation and pre comms were next to none, just super. Knew where I was the whole time planning.

Every photographer that booked put a tremendous amount of effort in to the shoot. We had everything we needed set wise at our fingertips and Barrie was super helpful throughout with questions and perspective and at the same time let you get on with your slot.

Fabulous time. Honestly couldn't recommend enough!!

Lilith Etch

Great studio!

I work as a nude art and fashion model, and had two days booked at Pavilion Photographic Studio, and have had two single shoots there as well.

As a model I would really recommend the studio. When you get there, the studio is already heated up, and that is soooo nice! You can choose what temperature you'd like, so if you do jumping and flexing poses, you can even turn it down a bit 😍.

There's a small room in which you as a model can have your stuff, and it's very convenient to have there, freshening up the makeup only takes a few seconds, and you don't need to move your stuff around in the studio. There are also hangers in there, an iron and an iron board if you need it. 👌

There is also a kitchen so you can keep your lunch cold, and the studio owner makes sure you always have what you need in terms of coffee and/or tea.

The studio is spacious, with options between natural light and lots of different set up lights, and there are different furnitures, stools and backdrops to choose from.

On top of that, or maybe most importantly, the studio owners are the most sweet people, competent and very easy to work with.

I do recommend it!

First time visiting the studio shooting with a couple of local photographers. It was a very nice place to work, clean and tidy with separate changing areas for models. The studio space it self is a great size & height which I good for 5ft 11 models like me. Studio owner was also very friendly offering help but not hovering whilst we where shooting. I would love to go back again.
