Alternative, Beauty, Fashion, Fitness, Landscape, Portrait and Wedding
Photography is a bit of an obsession for me - I've always loved landscape & macro imagery and fantasy art - scenes that force you to stop for a moment to really appreciate them and can show you a new view on the world, or that inspire your imagination. Then, upon seeing the travel images of a certain professor adorning the walls of a first-class London institute I knew that I wanted to make images like that myself, and it wasn't long before I was picking up my first 'real' DSLR in 2007.
It has been a constant and steep learning curve since then, and I am now a part-time paid photographer covering fashion & corsetry shoots for bespoke businesses, martial arts and historical events and weddings, plus portraiture, abstract, astro-, macro- and landscape shots when I travel. My main body of work is in alternative & historical fashion at my home studio, and various events on location - anything from Equestrian sports and Steampunk on Horseback through to Mixed Martial Arts at the MMA Battle Arena.
My home studio work heavily features speedlights, props and backdrops, but I'm equally happy to work with natural light on location. An inordinate amount of my time (outside my day job) is spent in LightRoom, with frequent trips to PhotoShop, and I'd say that my Digital Darkroom capabilities are 'developing nicely', thanks mainly to YouTube and the folks at Phlearn.
'TimeLight Photographic' can be found on FaceBook and Smugmug, plus various other social media, if you'd like to see how my portfolio is developing.
I am seeking to expand both my photographic capabilities with new and interesting subjects, and also my digital darkroom and photo-manipulation skills. I'm quite aware that this will be a never-ending task, and I am looking forward to the journey, as well as to learning from those I travel with along the way.
