Jon and I had been talking about a shoot for a r e a l l y l o n g t i m e ...so I was really looking forward to the day we finally made it happen!! :-)

Pre-shoot comms were really good, exploring location requirements and many ideas for shots. Jon also found the excellent Marla Pandora as our model for the day and the moment the three of us met I just knew it was going to be awesome...

It was!! We quickly got into a really productive flow after looking through a few reference shots which we all loved straight off, so the ideas for each set came thick and fast! ;-)

Jon is really excellent to shoot with - loads of enthusiasm, very easy going and of course outstanding results.

Can't wait until next time. Highly recommended.

BLINKING AWESOMENESS was created today with lots of fun , laughter and very hot stuff ....well jon certainly went red a few times and seemed rather hot under the collar ....lol he he he

Jon as always surpasses any expectations constantly ...even though we never have any particular plans we always fly through loads of different sets and get so much done and we always love what we see in the camera , and today was brilliant....

I always enjoy every shoot with Jon and always the images he comes back with are just excitingly fabulous x

Wow what a splendid shoot I had with the lovely Jon.

He is someone I had wanted to work with for some time. So was thrilled when he said he wanted to work with me also.

Incredibly talented photographer that absolutely amazed me during our entire shoot. His attention to detail is second to none and I was blown away by the images he produced.

Not only is Jon a talent but he is also very humble and down to earth that he was a pleasure to work with.

Certainly worth the wait and I can not recommend him enough.

Well what can I say .... my 1st time working with jon and i know this guy is bloody awesome ... his work speaks for itself. Not only that he is hilarious and has such banter and such a contageous laugh... never laughed so much as I did on Saturdays group shoot up London with Jon and 3 other photographers as well as 3 other models.

His work is phenomenal and he knows his stuff capturing the right moment and style.

Loved working with Jon.

Can't wait for our 2nd shoot in September 😄

He has a ridiculous amount of creativity and flair, unbelievably infectious laugh and is super fun and friendly!

His use of natural light is second-to-none, has more ideas than you could shake a stick at and makes the collaborative process truly worthwhile.

Shot Friday and Saturday in Plymouth and fricking awesome as per usual ;)

I can see why people love copying his work coz it's amazing. Just one big difference 90% of Jons work is done in camera. Others that copy spend 90% of time in photoshop getting it to look like Jons ;)

i finally got the opportunity to work with the legend that is Jon Downs :-) I had admired his work for months and been in talks with arranging a shoot at some point so i was delighted when he got in touch to say he was in my neck of the woods. I quickly snapped up the opportunity to get a cheeky shoot in.

We discussed ideas beforehand his pre comms were amazing and made it so much easier for when we actually met.

The shoot itself was fantastic. We bounced off each other really well and i found it an absolute breeze to work with John. He is not only amazing at taking images but he is such a great laugh and so easy to get on with. His eye for lighting and creativity is second to none but this is evident in his port.

We found some pretty epic locations within the perimeter he was staying (however not the most glam haha....bird poo everywhere) but it just worked so well. I loved the BOC's so im extremely excited to see how they turn out after he has worked his magic on them

Had another epic shoot with Jon!! Although we did not have long to shoot and spent a bit of time wondering around Gatwick we managed to produce fabulous results that is different to what I already have and I could not be happier.

Extremely talented photographer that is not afraid to experiment, be creative and think outside of the box.

I don't think I have laughed so much in a shoot we had such a laugh

I love the images we created and I feel really honored to have worked with him

We worked in such a lovely place in Plymouth and outside it was great I could have stayed there for hours and hours

I had a pleasure to spend 2 days with Jon shooting in Manchester and it was a great time :)

We had lots of fun, and create some Awesome piccies..as You do with that Creative guy!! Every time we shoot is better and better.... Jon is full of ideas and had an unique way to shoot and seeing things!! He also helped me with my crazy photgraphic project!!! Wonderful person to be arround!! Another awesome shoot with The Downs. This time I persuaded him to shoot during a heavy rainstorm which was quite a challenge but so much fun and led to some of my favourite shots ever! Jon is a pleasure to be around and I can always rely on him to capture the atmosphere and the moment perfectly. He edited some images the same night and I couldn't be more delighted with them! Excited for the next time already.

Well..... I'm just going to type in a few words here which is all we actually say on the day we shoot (when were not falling about laughing anyway) .......WOW......HOLY F**K.......HELL YEAH......JESUS.....and OH MY GOD!!!! ....

our shoots are always very professional ....lol .....

I don't know how many times i have worked with jon now i have lost track but this time we literally flew through soo many awesome sets it was bloody amazing and we even had some help from the maintenance man next door and got a fab location to take some shots in ...cant wait to see the images x

Well well well....... finally I got to spend more than a couple of hours with Jon! After meeting briefly last year when I did a fly by via MK, we promised each other to do a 'proper' shoot.... I think 13 hours qualifies as a proper shoot?! Also Jon was also kind enough to put me up for the night as it was the last night of my tour, so a BIG thanks for that too!

As we had been chatting regularly for several months, we knew what we wanted to do, plus I threw a few curveballs that Jon didn't expect me to do! ;) Needless to say he didn't disappoint with his ideas and camera execution, however I now cannot walk through a supermarket without sniggering like a teenager!

I honestly wish I lived nearer as I would work with Jon again and again! Plus I have lost my Starbucks drinking buddy :(

One hundred million per cent recommended. Thank you for a wonderful 24ish hours.

After admiring Jon's work for a while I was super excited when out shoot arrived!

Jon is a lovely guy to work with very friendly, bubbly and knows what he's talking about when it comes to photography.

I was extremely impressed with the pictures on the back of the camera and even more impressed with the finished versions!

Definitely comes highly recommended from me,

And really hope I get to work with jon again in the future.

Spooky | MeltingPot Pictures

Had the opportunity to attend Jon's training session today; it was informative, educational and thoroughly entertaining. Having been a long term fan-boy of Jon's work, it was great to finally meet and to hear / learn and gain some insight into how he achieves such creative and innovative images.

From a teaching perspective he handled the day brilliantly; instructions were clear, concise and supported with a confident knowledge of his craft. Jon gave everyone his time, no question was too silly and he quickly established a genuinely warm and assured rapport with all of us.

I really enjoyed the day and have taken a lot from the different exercises and discussions undertaken which I hope to now put into practice. Jon is a fabulous instructor and I fully recommend his workshops.

Cheers to Jon, Laura and the other 3 togs for a great day.

I also attended a recent workshop with Jon. As the other two photographers say a fantastic workshop, I learnt so much and gained a lot more confidence in working with natural light, something I don't normally do with model shoots. Laura was brilliant and a superb model and host for the day. I'm looking forwards to putting what I learnt into action and will try a little natural light and low light shots with all my future shoots. You don't need me to say if you get a chance to attend one of Jon's workshops take it. Cheers Simon
