First of all, I have to say a huge thank you to Jon. I had a last minute cancellation for my Kempston studio day. Jon took up the slot just as I was about to lose hope in finding a replacement. Very grateful to him.

Jon was extremely fun to work with and very enthusiastic. Truly helped me keep the energy up during the last session of the day. Loved his spirit and humour. He's very keen on experimentation, shooting portraits through prisms, playing around with all sorts of lighting styles, colour gels etc. Definitely reflects on his experience, passion and professionalism. I really enjoyed looking at the variety of images he's created on camera.

I definitely recommend Jon to those who haven't work with him yet. We all love a photographer who knows what he's doing and is a good laugh. I definitely hope to work with him again.

I had wanted to shoot with Jon for a while as he had been highly recommended by many models so I was super excited when he joined Thelema to shoot me from my home in London and around Canary Wharf. He is fantastic to work with, so enthusiastic and brings the best energy! Such a lovely person, was also really friendly and chatty with my partner and made him feel very welcome

Just the back of the camera images were amazing, so I cannot wait to see the edits!

I genuinely cannot recommend Jon enough, if you get the chance to work him do it!

Absolutely LOVE working with Jon, I don't know how many shoots we've had but it's a good handful or more now. Thank god he lives down South!

Jon is hilarious, such a sense of humour we never stopped laughing!

We shot at a holiday inn in Colchester and my sister Ember joined us this time, she's a new model and so I asked Jon if she could come along and be a part and he was thrilled to accept this.

I cannot believe the amount of insane images produced in a 4 hour shoot. :-O

If you don't know Jon, and his style of shooting, I am sure you can tell from the photos he has a unique 'Jon Downs' style of shooting through things and doing his 'mangling' as he calls it :D haha! The amount of times I heard him say 'I'm just gonna mangle now' after about 5 normal shots hahahaha! I love that about him. True J.D style.

I always love the images produced and just have the best fun working with him.

I don't even know where to start... I think WOW is a good starting point! I had the incredible opportunity of shooting with Jon and I couldn't be more pleased with how it went! From the second we met, he made me feel so safe, he was lovely to chat with and even treated me to coffee! (Always a bonus 😉) Jon's style in photography is so different and unique I couldn't wait to add his work to my portfolio! Since I am very new to the modelling industry, I felt he worked with me allowing me to find the angles that worked best for me and gave amazing suggestions. Overall I had the best day working with him and would definitely recommend!!

This reference is well overdue I'm ever so sorry!

First met Jon whilst working with another photographer as he was assisting on the set, but we didn't actually get to shoot that time.

My second time meeting Jon was when he came up to Sheffield for a couple of days and booked myself and Zavod for a full day shoot. This was organised well in advance and pre-comms were very clear and he is as super responsive. I remember this was a first shoot I did with my new edgy hair and Jon knew about it and, he was so kind to share lots of images with me from the shoot as well.

Although the shoot was arranged weeks before it took place, it was such a relaxed day! Jon was happy to try any styling ideas I had and came up with phenomenal lighting ideas. The photos he took that day still are my favourites of the workroom ever.

Thank you so much for coming all the way up to visit the steel city and for finding time to work with me.

FINALLY had my first shoot with Jon after being in the pipeline for yonks! And I was not disappointed! We shots SO many epic sets over the course of our shoot, solo, duo and trio shots with Sinopa Rin and Molly Mae too! What an absolutely epic day! I can not wait to see the photos!

Jon is really lovely, so chill and great humour, I throughly enjoyed working with him and I get very comfortable with him. Highly recommended and would a million percent work with him again!

Jon and I shot a few years ago at a studio day and it was a long time coming that we arranged something one x one.

It was a pleasure to shoot with Jon. He was kind, considerate and a gentleman throughout. He is enthusiastic and uplifting to shoot with and is as invested in BTS content which was a breath of fresh air.

Jon was really easy to get on with, he had great conversation and was really friendly. He has loads of ideas he wanted to try out with the lighting set ups and he definitely pulled them off; I was very excited by the back of cam shots.

Jon's got a wonderful and unique approach to his photography and is able to impart thinking outside of the usual constraints and rules to create photos that stand out to others.

Jon has a unique way of looking at photography. He's fun and talented, but also a great teacher. I had a great time and learned a lot.

I recently took part in the Jon Downs/Theresa Louise creativity workshop at Saracen House Studio.

Having booked my place in the workshop a couple of weeks earlier I had become a little sceptical, as the day approached, that I had made a mistake as Jon’s style is very different to mine and I thought I may not find the workshop interesting.

How wrong could I be. Jon and Theresa are a wonderful partnership, very enthusiastic and positive, always encouraging you to try things and make mistakes while searching for the sweet spot of your creativity.

With only 4 participants there was always something to do and try and very little standing around.

Jon is a very cheerful and easy person to be around and has a very clear idea of what he is trying to do. Theresa, apart from being a fabulous subject to photograph is also very knowledgeable about the various skills involved and often saved me from humiliation by explaining to me how my camera worked. She is very calming to be around and considering her vast experience, never seemed frustrated by my ineptness or the time I took to do things.

Overall a fabulous, educational and fun event with two lovely people I can happily recommend to anyone interested in photography. Thank you both for a great experience and all the new skills I learned.

Wow what an Epic unforgettable shoot with the amazing Jon Downs!!

I was thrilled when Jon and I managed to get something organised as I’ve loved his work for quite a while now. Prior to shooting pre-communications was excellent and I really enjoyed discussing ideas together.

On the day of the shoot Jon kindly collected me from the station which I really appreciated. He was friendly and welcoming from the start which put me at ease. We first shot on a crazy windy beach but everything just worked so well!! Jon has such a beautiful home with some really cool areas for taking some really amazing shots.

I love Jons way of working he looks at things from an alternative perspective and knows so many cool photography tricks. He’s just so creative and innovative and I really admire his style of work. Not to forget Jon is also such a talented retoucher and framer as well as photographer. His combination of skills is just ace. He’s also such a respectful kind gentleman too who was so respectful of my modelling levels and limits.

When I saw some of the pictures I was BLOWN AWAY!! I was so pleased with the results ahhh!!!

What a fab shoot can’t thank him enough and can’t wait till the next one.
