Sensual Art

I wanted a sci-fi themed shoot with Amie Boulton, shooting remotely, and was delighted when Amie recommended Jo, given that they have worked together several times already. I gave Jo a very vague and hand-wavy indication of a particular sci-fi look that I wanted, along with a picture which served only as a start point. Jo's response of "oh, we can be much more exciting than that" showed me that she was fully in tune with the direction I wanted to go, and the results were stunning.

Last month I joined Amie Boulton and Chris Conway's 'Blast of Colour' themed remote shoot-a-set day and Joanne was on make-up duties for the day. The work she did on Amie was absolutely fantastic, delivering a vibrant and captivating multicolour look for the shoot. Based on my experience she is a truly talented make-up-artist and would be a great asset for any shoot. Very highly recommended.

Having seen Jo’s work many times during studio shoots, I didn’t have any hesitation in hiring her for a beauty shoot. Very professional in everything she does, describe the look your after and that’s what she’ll come up with.

During the shoot she was more than happy to operate the smoke machine for me, which was very helpful, I won’t have any hesitation in hiring Jo again, comes well recommended by myself, thanks for your help and talents making a brilliant shoot ! ! !

I was lucky enough to work alongside Jo for the first time on this shoot. She is a capable artist and managed to follow instructions without hesitation, quickly turning around look after look, from pink to blue and then building up the look to something more dramatic. In addition, Jo was friendly, helpful and professional and at one point even jumped in to operate the smoke machine.

This was my first time working with Jo on a shoot with Andrew Rowe and I'd seen her work on here before so was very excited. Jo is a very professional MUA and was extremely confident even though Asian models aren't that common, especially with single eyelids. She came well prepared, considering she hadn't worked with me before, with a large array of options to match my skin, the shoot concept and my outfits. She was also very patient and considerate. A lovely person to work with and her contribution to a successful shoot was much appreciated.

I watched Jo doing her stuff when I attended at a portfolio shoot, hosted by Chris Conway with Amie Boulton modelling. It occurred to me that Jo was everything one needed in a MUA. She was quietly reassuring, unflappable, and extremely talented. Unobtrusive but readily on hand to dab a bit of powder here and there to conquer the shine on a hot sunny day. I can understand from looking at her port why she is fast becoming the go to MUA for discerning models and photographers alike. To top it all off Jo is both warm and friendly. I would recommend her wholeheartedly.

I had the tremendous pleasure of spending 3 hours with Jo and Amie Boulton in Plymouth with Jo doing Amie's makeup. What a talented and creative lady Jo is too! She managed to fashion a headpiece out of 5 flowers stems using nothing other than a bit of thread and a deal of ingenuity! Her makeup skills are top notch needless to say too! She did a fabulous job and nothing was too much trouble.

I worked with Jo for the first time yesterday and was amazed at the originality and quality of her work. It is simply stunning. We had discussed looks and themes prior to the shoot and Jo’s thoughts and suggestions were much appreciated. The last theme of the day was the most demanding and complicated “look” for the model, Aime Boulton. Jo exceeded anything I could have imagined in what she produced and everyone on the shoot was in awe of the look she created for the camera. Very highly recommended and a joy to work with.

In a word.... Legend!

I had THE best weekend with the amazing lady! Myself and Jo put a lot of thought and planning into doing a creative beauty weekender at Inspire studios last weekend. It was kind of a trial but my god did we smash it!! From start to finish it went amazingly and I honestly could not think of anyone I would rather have done this with. We bounced off each other all weekend which the photographers loved and joined in with and I think it's safe to say they were all happy as they have all booked on for our return in May. Jo's talent is evident in her port but along with this she is beautiful inside and out and working alongside her is a huge pleasure. I honestly do not remember the last time I laughed so much. The looks she created on me blew the photographers minds which says a lot. When the weekend was over I was on a massive high, getting to host something like this and it all be a super success with a great friend is an amazing feeling and I can't wait to do it all again in the months to come :-) My partner in crime....Love you girl!!

Yesterday I finally got to work with Jo, who did a great job of makeup for us on model Amie Boulton. Really pleased with the results.

Jo was also fantastic on shoot - easy to work with, and keeping us fed and watered, while also hanging on to light-stands when needed.Thanks Jo - you were a lifesaver! :-)

Working with Jo was a really exceptional experience, an absolute delight of a person all round. We did two looks - Natural and Tribal,

Both I could not recreate to save my life but Jo made everything seem so effortless!, and just so easy to talk too, I spent most of my time on set just enjoying the atmosphere, conversation and coffee ☕️ (and pouting.) I’m sure there’s nothing this one can’t do! I hope we get to do some more looks again sometime 👍🏻

I love Jo! She is one of the most down to earth easiest and fun people to work with and her make up is always spot on! I had a collab with Chris Conway and we were in need of a super cool MUA and who better than Jo! What a fab day and she transformed me from a sixties chick with subtle make up into a fashion diva with some crazy make up! Loved it and the day would not have been the same without her. 100% recommended by me and i hope to work with her on many more occasions in the future :-)
