What a brilliant place!

Sure its small, but it makes up for that in versatility.

Warm, inviting, lovely little touches that a model would really appreciate - like cotton buds or really good lighting for make up.

The actual studio is so well kitted out and the surrounding areas are also great to use as sets.

I loved my time there and hope to return in future :)

It’s a lovely space with a changing room and plenty of lighting. I believe it was my first time shooting here but I will certainly be back again

This was my first shoot at this studio and I really enjoyed it. John gave me excellent details on how to find it and was at J9 when Skye and I arrived. He gave a thorough introduction to the studio to make sure that we could make the most of our time there and ran through the different lights and which props were out of bounds, (not many). I am looking forward to visiting the studio again in the near future. Definitely recommended.

I've been fortunate enough to shoot at J9 studio twice in 2023. Both shoots have been a success resulting in strong final images. Jay and the other guys who run it are friendly and welcoming and create a good atmosphere to shoot in.

Things are well looked after and the studio is run well. I would definitely recommend the studio and keen to shoot there more :)

I'm sure I've previously done a reference for J9 but wanted to do another to reflect a little how much I work at this studio- it's a regular haunt for me when back in the Gloucestershire region. I've now worked there more times than I can count and whenever I do want to book out the space Jay is so accommodating and using it is so easy! I was pretty chuffed Jay trusted me enough with his lovely studio for me to book it out with somebody who he hadn't previously met for the first time recently, feel a real part of the J9 crew- fab studio with lots of potential and from a models perspective has everything you would need! This was my first shoot at J9 and it went really well. Jay was there a little before time to run through the lights, other equipment and facilities with me.

I found it a great space to crate the images I was looking for and there are a lot of props available which will definitely feature in my future visits, of which I sure there will be many. My model for the day, Melanie Bond, was also pleased with the studio, which always helps the creative vibe.

Jay could not have been more helpful and I hope he found me to be as good a visitor as he is a host. Looking forward to returning very soon…

A great shoot at J9 Studios on Sunday! Jay welcomed us and showed us around the studio. He made sure the photographer, Paul was happy with all the equipment and the heating was on for me. The studio was well presented and had plenty of options to shoot with. We were left to our own devices, and Jay was only around the corner if we needed him. Jay arrived back at the end of the shoot. I was particularly impressed with the follow up message from Jay after the shoot. Very professional. I had a great time at the studio and would be looking to add J9 to my regular studio list, of places to shoot. Thanks Jay!

After a hurriedly rearranged shoot hire of J9 Studios was organised thanks to Jay without any problems. Pre shoot communications were excellent with clear instructions about arriving in ample time to allow for familiarity of the studio layout and equipment etc., Very easy to find being quite close to the M5 it has plenty of car parking space and disabled access should you need it.

It is very well equipped with plenty of Bowens studio flashes and light modifiers etc, backgrounds and a large selection of useful props. I last worked here several years when it was called The Powerstation.

I highly recommend this studio.

Another fab few shoots at J9 last week. Jay's glamourous assistant (just saw that in the notes- brill! haha) John was as ever lovely helpful and chatty and me and the photographer I was working with were made to feel so welcome- so glad to have found this studio and will be back very soon- thanks!

Had a great shoot at J9 studios with Sophie. Only positive things to say about this place. Great pre comms, everything was set up and ready to go on arrival, plenty of lighting and backdrops to suit any skill level and John was always on hand for help if needed although wasn't intrusive to the shoot in any way.

Superb location just off the motorway, really easy to find, some great places to shoot both indoors and out, J9 is the perfect place to shoot if you're looking for an affordable, convenient and friendly place to shoot. Highly recommended by me.

Remember remember the 5th Nov- the first time I shot at J9 studios. Great pre-comms from Jay as to directions and parking (including maps and satellite pics) which was very helpful.

John was there to welcome us to J9 studios for the first time- with a smile and cup of tea. We had a great time shooting at J9 for the first time- a little gem of a studio, will be back for sure.

The studio is well equipped for whatever lighting style you desire, has a variety of backdrops and other stuff you might possibly need on the day, such as fan, reflectors, outfits, accessories, posing blocks, sofas, chairs, etc.

Jay, the owner is lovely, professional and very helpful,

we had an excellent time and finial images look great!:)

Came to J9 Studios for the second time yesterday to work with the wonderful Jay. Having the opportunity to have fun in the BWB and work with such a fantastic photographer was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. Of course I absolutely recommend working with Jay in the studio as I know I will be planning another shoot soon. Cant wait to see the images that come back !

I had my first shoot at J9 recently with Betty B Bashful, which turned out really well thanks to Jay & Betty.

I dropped by the studio a few weeks ago & met with Jay & Orpentog. The meeting was welcoming and informative. The studio is only 5 minutes off the motorway and ideally located for me. There is also a large selection of props & accessories available for use.

On the day of the shoot, Jay did an initial set up for me beforehand and then let us have the run of the studio for the next couple of hours, although he was on hand if required.

Totally enjoyed our time, use of space and freedom to work.

I'll be back soon to explore other areas of the facility outside of the studio. Thank you Jay.

I had my first shoot at J9 last night and it was a very positive experience. Despite panicking because I was stuck in accident traffic on the M5, Jay managed to contact me and was reassuring. Thankfully I was just about on time!

The studio is well resourced, had been warmed before I got there (hurrah!)and has a nice little private dressing room.

Jay was in the building, but didn't interfere with the shoot. He was very courteous and welcoming and I appreciated him double checking on how I found my experience by messaging me on this site today.

I hope to shoot at J9 again.

This was my third shoot at J9 Studios, this time working with the Muppetographer. I had an absolute blast as per usual!

J9 has so much to offer - amazing props, a variety of backdrops and a plethora of outfits if you run out of your own. There is also a heated dressing room with a soft rug, full-length mirror, lights, a seat etc. - 10/10 comfort rating!

I highly recommend booking a shoot at J9 Studios. This is by far my favourite place to work and I really hope I can organise some more shoots there soon. I can't wait to be back!

Had my second shoot at J9 Studios yesterday and once again it definitely didn't fail to disappoint

Enjoyed every minute of my shoot with Jay creating some fabulous images

The studio was laid out professionally as usual and everything looked fantastic

I especially enjoyed the wet look shoot we did which was very fun and interesting :)

Highly recommend and I shall definitely be back!

The studio is fabulous, lots of space and is kept warm too which is brilliant. Not to forget the dressing room which is a huge game changer :) Lots of props and furniture as well to make shoots even more interesting and adventurous especially the big white box !

Thoroughly enjoyed my first shoot here and I hope to be back again soon !

I shot at J9 whilst touring Gloucestershire last week and worked with several photographers there organised by John aka Orpentog. I was very impressed with the space, carefully thought out and features lots of wonderful and exciting props/wardrobe and accessories. There is a heated changing area (private) with mirrors/lights/extra little helpful bits like cotton pads/wipes/hair grips etc.

The studio space itself has a variety of backdrops, lots of lighting options and a vintage dressing table set too which is lovely.

There's tea and coffee on tap and before the shoots finished Jay popped over to say hello and even brought us some sweets (I didn't realise they were for us otherwise I'd of had some). Jay seemed like a lovely person and studio owner going out of his way to do those kind gestures.

I had a great first shoot at J9 studios yesterday! It was easy to find from the road and I was met at the entrance by John (Orpentog).

It's a great sized studio and the dressing room is fantastic! It's warm (major benefit), with anything you could possibly need (cotton pads, ear buds, pins etc...)

It was a great evening and I'll definitely be back!
