The Christmas Tree Cluster - a collection of nebulae located in the constellation Monoceros. It contains (from left to right) the Cone nebula, the Snowflake nebula and the Fox Fur Nebula.

The colours in the nebulae come from hydrogen alpha emissions (red) and oxygen-iii emission (blue). Dark areas are a mix of cold hydrogen and dust, blocking much of the light.

This is created from 29 x 1200s exposures (9.66 Hrs) taken over 4 nights during March with an Esprit 100ED scope, ASI2600MC camera and EQ6-R mount. Stacked and processed using PixInsight, finished in Photoshop."
