Pas de Vacuum

When I posted my "Pas de Dyson" photo of Maria Jazmin last year, my notes said:

"I can't claim originality for this idea, that falls to Sharon McGorian of the Royal Ballet, who danced a pas de deux with a vacuum cleaner at one of Wayne Sleep's Riverside Studio choreography sessions back in 1980. I shot that session with my Olympus OM-2 and I'm pretty sure I know where the slides are ..."

Thanks to a lockdown-enforced tidying of my garage I've found the Paterson file folder containing my old B&W negatives. I now realise that the original photos of Sharon McGorian were in fact in black and white, shot on Ilford HP5 pushed two stops. The venue obviously isn't Riverside Studios, I think it's the Royal Opera House itself. So here for the first time in public for forty years is Sharon's original version - I'd completely forgotten about the beehive!
