Studio Luminescence

Always happy to welcome Damo back to the studio - this time round for an sculptural artistic nude event with Georgia Brown.

We'd consider Damo a regular member of the Luminescence community - for us, it is always a pleasure to work with him and welcome him to the studio. He has a professional approach to his photography and really pushes the creative boundaries when it comes to the events we put on. We always commend his approach to photography and taking the time to think a little outside the box to perhaps the more standard shooting styles that one could expect at an event. He is a super friendly chap and has a great sense of humour.

Damo pre-books events with ease, we always know where we stand with his bookings and we appreciate this from a studio perspective.

We continue to recommend working with Damien in a group workshop capacity and would happily recommend him to studios, models and event organisers.

Saracen House Studio

Great having Damien back at Saracen House again for his shoot with Daniella Carter. I always love having Damien here as I know he's going to provide me with a lighting challenge (that I gladly accept).

His understanding of creating striking and bold images is just wonderful and his portfolio shows just how hard he works to acheive this.

I had another amazing shoot with Damien. We arranged the shoot very last minute but Damien organised an amazing studio for us to shoot at. Damien had lots of ideas on the shoot and we shot lots of different sets. I absolutely love the pictures I’ve seen so far and what was on the back of the camera, they look amazing!! We created different looks and Damien used gel lighting and different backdrops and scenes to create different looks. I’m super happy with results and I highly recommend working with Damien, I’d certainly shoot with Damien again. Thanks so much for the amazing shoot 😊😊

Fantastic shoot with Damien @ Saracen House!!

My first time meeting and working with this lovely man and I certainly hope not the last!!

His photos are stunning, he is extremely professional but is also such a good laugh!! He was even kind enough to bring some of his own things for me to wear which was incredibly thoughtful and kind!!

It doesn't surprise me that he achieves the wonderful photos that he does, as Damien is so measured and put an extreme amount of passion and thought into his captures.

All in all, a delight to work with, a great guy and even better creative photographer.

I was modelling at Aura for their studio club night which is where I met Damien! He is super friendly to talk to and we got on extremely well!

Unfortunately I only got to work with him for a small amount of time in-between the other photographers but from what I saw from the BOC, the results were awesome! He was not afraid to think outside of the box doing something different to everyone else. He gave clear instructions when direction was needed for a particular shot but also allowed me to pose freely.

Overall, he is respectable, professional and made me feel comfortable from start to finish. He has just booked onto my studio day at Aura and I'm super excited to work with him again!

Studio Luminescence

We happily hosted Damo again at our Tulle Daydream event with Elle Baldwinson.

Damo interacted well with Elle and brought some creative ideas to the fold. As per our previous interactions, Damo was polite and respectful of both the model and studio (including set, facilities and changing space). Damo's pre-event comms were clear and concise.

From brief back of camera previews, we were super impressed with Damo's creativity and we look forward to seeing some of the edits from the workshop. We continue to recommend working with Damo to models and studios alike.

Damien had a last minute change of plans and contacted me about shooting. He was specifically hoping for some long grass golden hour style photos so I recommended some locations options for it.

Really easy to arrange. Typically the weather wasn't quite playing along but Damien has plenty of lighting knowledge and was able to use his flash when needed to create some beautifully glowy shots!

Super easy and relaxed way of working so it was a lovely evening. Highly recommended!

I had the pleasure of finally getting to work with Damien after having followed his work for so long, after he booked a spot on a sculptural art nude workshop that was being run by/at Studio Luminescence. We worked our way through through multiple sets with slightly differing light alterations in small groups of 3, which was lovely as I felt like I had the opportunity to get to know everyone more personally! Damien also had some input into the lighting and pose styles, as well as allowing me to flow myself. The whole afternoon was a pleasure and I would love to work with Damien on a 1-2-1 level as it’s clear he has many of his own ideas and styles that I would like to work on! Thanks for attending Damien, highly recommended!!

Studio Luminescence

We recently had the pleasure of working with Damo at our Sculptural Art Nude workshop at Studio Luminescence.

Damo's pre-shoot comms were clear and polite. He was quick to place a deposit for a couple of events that took his fancy.

On attendance, Damo was a good addition to our workshop. He interacted with other attendees well and was respectful of the studio space, equipment and guest model. It was a pleasure to see Damo take on board some of the lighting set ups as well as bring in his own creativity and experiment with alterations.

We would happily welcome Damo back to the studio and recommend him to other studios that have not worked with him before. Thanks again!

I had a great time working with Damien on one of my studio days at Inspire Studios. Damien and I had tried to plan a shoot a few years ago, but covid ruined that, so I was happy to see that Damien had booked 4h at the studio.

Damien is really nice and I like how he used his time on perfecting the setups rather than rushing through the hours to get as many pictures as possible - we like quality before quantity :)

Damien clearly know his light and has great creative visions, so we did some beautiful setups. I, as a photographer myself as well, am always happy to learn new things about photography, and Damien was happy to spend some of our time together sharing some knowledge regarding how to use gels and shutterspeed in an abstract way, so that was an extra bonus I could take away from our shoot.

The shoot was all in all very collaborative and the raws looked awesome, so I can't wait to see the finished results!

I'm happy to recommend working with Damien, and I look forward to work with him again another time.

I'd admired Damiens work for a while, so, when he reached out to me to organise a shoot I was absolutely thrilled!!! Having also met Damien previously at a cosplay workshop organised at Basford I knew we'd be in for a great shoot!!!!

From the moment we started shooting we were laughing.... usually at something stupid I'd done ... but still... that set the tone for the rest of this amazing shoot!! Damien is great fun to have around, he's polite, witty and above all an amazing photographer!! As soon as I saw the back of the camera from the first set I knew we were onto a winner of a shoot!!!

We worked through lots of different sets and time flew by!!! Damien had many great ideas but allowed me to also bring some of my own to the shoot. He was always respectful of me and my levels and I am really excited to see the finished edits along with hopefully another shoot!!! 🤩

Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

Damien came back to Basford Hurst Cottage to shoot with Rosie in the morning and Miss C in the afternoon.

After meeting Damien at a cosplay workshop in June, it was an absolutely pleasure to welcome him back to Basford!! He is a complete professional, easy to talk to and always respectful of our location and his model.

I had the chance to work with Damien during weekend in Wales organized by Paul. We had 3 hour session together, started from an art nude indoor using natural window light and ended with some beautiful outdoor portraits wearing an old style dress which really fit the venue. He was giving me useful direction as well as freedom to express. The images from back of the camera were looking amazing and I can’t wait to see the final results. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Damien for the first time at the start of the month during Paul’s trip to Wales at the most stunning venue. We did a mixture of indoor and outdoor sets, making full use of the estate and the surrounding areas including the moss covered trees, the rocky stream, rusty tractor, long corridors and large windows just to name a few. Damien gave me fantastic direction but he also allowed me to pose freely and give ideas too. We worked at a relaxed yet productive pace and we managed to get a lot done in the time we had. I saw the photos on the back of his camera and they were incredible! Damien knows how to work with the light perfectly and uses different angles to create the most gorgeous images. Overall, I had a thoroughly enjoyable shoot with Damien who is professional, respectful, polite and friendly. I would happily recommend him to others and would certainly love to work with him again.

Basford Hurst Cottage Photography Location

Damien came to a cosplay photography workshop organised by Secretcon.

Damien is great!! He's a joy to have around, easy to talk to and clearly a fantastic photographer!!! (You only have to look at his images...!!). He was completely respectful of our location as well as his fellow photographers and the cosplay models.

I have no hesitation to recommend Damien and I look forward to seeing him again soon!! Thank you Damien!

Damien was apart of a photography trip in Alicante, along with 7 photographers and 3 other models. Damien was a good addition to the trip bringing his own style and views. I hadn't previously worked with Damien so being the first time working together there can be challenges and being on a time restraint, working with others who all have all different ideas and new locations, can all be somewhat overwhelming which I seemed apparent was a challenge for Damien, I tried to give encouragement to not discourage Damien as he brought his own value to the group, just some thrive in other environments and I applaud Damien for putting himself out there despite the challenges he persevered. I feel he had a few difficult moments and moments of self doubt in his abilities and felt limited in terms of ideas and that must have been frustrating which is why I tried to give some suggestions at times and engaged in conversation with him as I felt he was at times reserved but it can be very difficult in a large group with so many personalities, the dynamic of big personalities so clash.

I feel Damien is a introverted person which is not a negative just in terms of the trip caused him to be overshadowed and that made it difficult for his ideas to come across and at times felt push pull when navigating how to work within the time frame of others from what I observed. However, despite that when I personally had conversations with Damien he was pleasant and we got on well. He seemed to have a sincere interest in the welfare of the models and was respectful for the duration of the trip, when I went for a walk on occasion he would offer to accompany me which was appreciated and thought-out the week there was numerous things I noticed he was considerate about towards the models.

Damien seemed to be very observant and conscious of not rocking the boat and was not one for drama which is a positive however I could sense his frustration at times which I am hoping it was a worth while trip for him, if not for the experience then just for the knowledge of what to expect on future trips and no doubt we got some amazing images also!

We got the opportunity to work together 1:1 inside the villa which is when I really got to see his artistic concepts and they are genuinely my favourite images we have done from the trip, I can tell he was comfortable that was evident he was able to experiment and not feel under the scope.

We worked through fashion to art nude at various locations throughout the week, our first shoot was in the old town to not fault of Damien could have been organised better, despite the confusion it gave us longer to be able to talk in between shoots and gain a better rapport.

I enjoyed working with Damien, once in his flow he really shines in his field and I would happily work with him again. We all have emotions and though at times he seemed frazzled and overwhelmed that is more than understandable and I wanted to write a reference that emphasis that different is good, each photographer on the trip offer something different and having Damien there with his own ideas and insight was useful it was a good experience and I look forward to working together in the future.

Throughout our time working together Damien made me feel super comfortable and is an amazing photographer to work with…he was so thoughtful throughout our trip making sure all us girls were happy and safe..Damien is a awesome photographer and I’m so pleased with the images we created together 🥰
