Artist, filmmaker, calisthenics athlete and stay-at-home person. Currently looking to build a fitness model portfolio. Fell short (about 5 inches) of being able to sign with an agency. I am working towards being able to perform a human flag, muscle-up and back lever.

What drew me to calisthenics is the self-reflexive performance of it - there are a lot of static holds like human flag, back lever, and so on, which cry out for a photographer to capture. This makes for crisp photographs, unlike the more impressionistic, long-exposure style a photographer might deploy to capture, say, a ballerina in motion.

To me, calisthenics strikes a perfect balance between the brute, unreflective sprezzatura of something like weightlifting and then on the other hand the flagrant exhibitionism of pole-dancing and other aerial arts. Calisthenics is at once a very effective strength training protocol for the athlete, but also a sight to see for the onlooker.
