Beinn

Photography has been my passion for many years. I love portraits, seascapes, macro, the natural world and abstract details. These days I focus my time capturing images of people - models, jugglers, performers, artists and dancers. I love that both the subject and the photographer are intimately involved in creating the final image (something that didn't happen very often photographing flowers). I find the creativity that arises from this momentary relationship between subject and photographer wonderful.

I love experimenting with light, and how there is always more to learn and to explore. I like images with high contrast and hidden secrets. I like how minute changes to the light, or the angle of a face, can alter the image entirely. I am inspired by cinematography and try to apply what I learn about filmmaker techniques to my work. My goal is try and tell a story with my images, or at least encourage the viewer to ask questions.

Recently I have been exploring B&W medium format film photography using a C330, and I'm interested in collaborating with anyone who'd like to create photographs together on this medium.

I am always interested in organising collaborative or paid sessions with models, make up artists, and other photographers, so please send me a message if you are interested in working together!
