This is not actually high key. Therefore the background should be white. I call it "grey key". With low key you have one dimension to go: From black to light, with high key from white to dark. With "grey key" both ways are possible, to dark and to light. It is like drawing with pencil or charcoal on grey cardboard, you can set additional highlights.
