Bit of a story with this one!

On the lead up to all Artemisian trips a LOT of location scouting and driving takes place. Several days of non stop exploring (and even before that hours and hours on google maps!)

This is a location I, Artemis, found by looking at google maps/ investigating online- to be honest the location I wanted to scout was across the road but with no easy access it had to be dismissed instantly. Heart wrenching!

This location was a 20 minute trek into a forest- chained up gates from the other side stopped us entering but as I'm stubborn I wouldn't take no for an answer so I found another way in... ;)

We ended up finding the ruins of a huge hospital of some sort- with this amazing chapel, old clothes scattered everywhere, suitcases, even children's toys and prams...

I REALLY wanted this to be a location we were going to take our photographers too but with the difficult treck, small hole in breeze blocks to enter the hospital and the accident that ALMOST happened to myself and Iain (a beam and several tiles fell above us and we just about managed to get out the way!!!) we had to make a tough call- it was FAR too dangerous to take a group of 7 here. I did actually shed a tear- I could see how awesome this place would be to shoot, but the dangers (lift shafts open, glass, roof falling in) just made it a no. Gutted- but we had to be sensible!

We did manage to grab a few shots while we were here, I was torn- if I can't bring others here should I really shoot Carla here? But I just couldn't walk away from a place like this with nothing!!

...

This edit is totally different to anything I have done before- I'm no PS expert but I had an idea I wanted to try out, so I gave it a bash! Everything is real but the wings... ;)
