I had the pleasure to be invited by Andrew and Helen to be one of the models for their Mastering Portrait Photography workshop on Sunday 13th October.

Communication in advance of the shoot was excellent and Helen was very helpful and we arranged what I was to bring along to the shoot in advance so I could bring a selection of outfits for the workshop.

Helen picked me up from the railway station and dropped me back afterwards which was great.

The atmosphere in the workshop was very relaxed which allowed the participants to learn without worrying about being awkward.

I look forward to working with Andrew and Helen again in the future and would not hesitate to accept another invite to model for them.

I was a model for Andrews workshop here on the Wild Atlantic way, Ireland. What can I say, a pleasure to work with. I must compliment Andrew on his impressive management skills, organisation and communication. It was a fun, easy going and creative experience. You can tell that Andrew and his wife Helen are very passionate about what they do.

Andrew and his wife were kind, hospitable and genuinely nice people. Andrew is very talented and knowledge photographer. He got some awesome shots with incredible ease and is a very relaxing presence to work with.

I believe work shops should be relaxed, fun and inspiring, which this was and more. We had lots of giggles, the day flew by!.

Many amazing locations and idea possibilities were close by from the Hotel. The workshop supplied an incredible wardrobe of clothing that suited the landscape perfectly.

The workshop was set in a beautiful town on the Wild Atlantic with Everything you need for awesome landscape shots close by. Variety of scenes and natural templates to make beautiful shots.I had a great time posing in the variety of landscapes.

Really fun workshop to be apart of and I Look forward to working together in future.

Had a wonderful time shooting with Andrew and his lovely wife Helen for a location lighting workshop at the beautiful Stowe gardens in Bucks.

Pre coms we’re excellent with a email of engagement attached shortly after booking me with every last detail, and they we’re very happy to answer any questions i may have had!

On arrival Andrew kindly met me at the entrance and was very accommodating, friendly and funny! Met lots of lovely people in the workshop too and had a great laugh.

If you love a friendly, chilled, and very well organised shoot these are your guys! They both make such a great team. Had a fabulous time and cant wait to work with you again this month!

I modelled for Andrew at one of his photography workshops. He and his wife Helen were extremely friendly and hospitable. I really enjoyed my day on the course and they made me feel totally at ease. Andrew is clearly very experienced. His photography skills and knowledge are fantastic and I really hope to work with him again in the future.

I had the pleasure of Modelling For Andrews Cinematic lighting workshop. This was my first time working with Andrew and his team aswell as my first workshop!

I had an amazing day meeting everyone and Modelling in the style of Emma Peel 1960S Avengers.

The entire day was enjoyable, professional and fun. It ran smoothly and was extremely well organised. It was clear that Andrew and his team had put a lot of effort into organising the weekend.

I also met his lovely wife Helen who was very kind and helpful and made me feel ever so comfortable.

I do hope I get the chance to work with Andrew again!!

Andrew organized an event where the theme was cinematic characters. I was styled as Amelie and oh man, I loved that day.

Pre communication with Andrew was very good and clear and his wife Helen is a lovely lady.

The styling was on point, the place was beyond beautiful and all the photographers were nice and had cool ideas.

Andrew is very professional, friendly and always made me feel welcome even thought it was the first time we were meeting. I really hope we work together again in the future!

His workshops are always great fun, full of learning and the amount of photographers that attend time and time again speaks for itself really!

Andrew's communication is fantastic, very efficient and have never had a problem with organising a shoot, this is really important for me and my work schedule - I can always rely on Helen and Andrew to send through details well in advance.

Andrew and his team at Appleton photo training booked me for a workshop, his communication throughout the pre shoot was excellent.

He also introduced me to his wife who was my MUA

They presented me with a brief and full details of the shoot and location - which instantly showed me professionalism.

When greeted by Andrew and his wife I instantly felt ‘at home’ with them - although thoroughly professional and excellent at their jobs they were human! With humour and kindness.

During the shoot they made sure I was ok, introduced me to everyone and I felt so at ease. I loved the photographers I worked with and the results were outstanding which shows how excellent their knowledge in photography is.

I was super excited when I was booked again and now I’m awaiting my 3rd booking!

Can’t wait to catch up and produce some amazing imagery

I had the absolute pleasure of shooting with Andrew for the first time this weekend. I hope very much to have the chance to work with Andrew again as I genuinely had SUCH an enjoyable afternoon.

Andrew is a former commercial photographer based relatively local to me. Its not often you find photographers who are highly professional and incredibly friendly/interpersonal but he certainly has both attributes! Needless to say, Andrew is a true master in his craft; his work is simply impeccable, attributed to many years of experience.

Andrew invited me to model at one of his amazingly varied workshops he regularly delivers to photography enthusiasts. I was required to model outdoors and we agreed to go with a romantic / lifestyle theme. Despite not having met Andrew before the shoot, Andrew maintained excellent communication and was incredibly responsive. He suggested a couple of looks that worked amazingly with the locations he had in mind.

On meeting for the first time, Andrew and his lovely wife Helen made great efforts to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. The photographers attending the workshop were also very friendly and surprisingly talented.. They also had a great sense of humour and the afternoon felt very relaxed despite being part of a structured workshop. With technical guidance from Andrew, the group also managed to capture some simply brilliant images.

All in all, I had an incredibly enjoyable shoot. This was by far one of my favourite group shoots of this year. Andrew comes with my highest recommendations if you are lucky enough to have the chance to shoot with him. I have my fingers crossed that we have the opportunity to work again soon!!

Holy hell, what a rush!

Just got back from an incredible trip ran by the incredible one and only Andrew Appleton, and lets not forget his amazing other half Helen!

On our trip to Ireland i also had the pleasure of working alongside Alexia, this trip was specifically for fine art and dance, with Alexia working the dance and ballet side, and myself shooting art nude.

I love working with the Appletons for so many reasons, i’ll start with the utter professionalism with pre communications both from Andrew on the business side and Helen for the styling ideas, you get a true door to door service on these trips also and nothing is too much trouble as everyone was given the option as to what would work best for them whether photographers wanted to fly in, get picked up on the way, or get the ferry earlier everything was arranged beautifully for everyones comfort.

The hotel for the trip was fantastic and it was obvious that the Appleton’s had built up a great reputation and friendship with the family ran business, wonderful food and great options which speaking as a vegetarian made a huge difference for me, lovely friendly service, and fantastic room which was spacious even for two models and all our cases haha

As always on these trips i loved the company! I already knew three of the six photographers but what a great crowd, no arguments, no hogging shoot time, no one shooting over shoulders, just good old fashioned gents with a whole lotta fun and banter whether it be on the bus or on set which just made the time fly by before i knew it!

I always have so much praise for Andrew as I just adore the way he works, when you’re shooting in the elements you have to be aware of the models comfort and safety whether that be the temperature or if youre working bare foot on certain types of ground, Andrew works so quickly you dont have time to get uncomfortable, and this is something that can be difficult if youre working in a big group of photographers but not with Appleton, as he sets the shots up, explains why, answers questions if needed, makes sure everyone is happy, explains it all to the model as well, bang out the shots, and then move on to the next set. All the photographers got 1-2-1 time with the models, making sure everyone got the unique shots they were after as well!

All in all another great fun, relaxed trip with more epic shots. I really can’t recommend the both of them highly enough, thank you for a fantastic trip and i hope to see you soon!

I'm so glad he booked me for two events to do for him.

I can't recommend him enough.

He is highly professional and knows photography like the back of his hand. His knowledge is second to none and was so postivie to see this in the way he works when helping other photographers.

He was welcoming and works with a great team. I hope to work with again as would jump at the chance.

I've lost count of the number of times I've worked with Andrew now, but safe to say we're in double figures! I always have a fantastic time on his workshops, he is a great teacher, a fun and easy-going chap to work for and myself and other models are always very well looked after (certainly very well fed!) Communications are thorough, atmosphere is professional yet welcoming and everyone fully enjoys themselves - models and photographers alike. I had the pleasure of working with Andrew and his fantastic wife Helen on a wedding work shop. Considering I haven't done bridal before, they were both beyond accommodating for me, putting me instantly at ease. Helen did a great job of my hair and makeup, and Andrew was very informative to his students- I even learnt a few things myself! I really enjoyed the experience and developed a natural rapport with Sam, the male model who portrayed the groom. Andrews pre-comms were clear and precise so I knew exactly what to expect and who was picking me up from the station. I defintley recommend this pair to any one and eagerly hope I get the chance to work with them again!

Well Andrew and Helen must be mad, having only just shot with me the week before, they then had to put up with me for a day on an art nude lighting course at Saracen House in Milton Keynes.

I really can’t say how refreshing it was to see brand new photographers so enthusiastic and eager to hear things from the models point of view, I can’t say how many photographers I’ve worked with that have been shooting for years and I’ve had to take them right back to just social etiquette or address bad habits, so it was simply marvelous to watch Andrew set the record straight and really shape these photographers right from the start.

I loved every minute of the day, it was so much fun as well as I love learning new things, we got through so many sets in the day but it was also very relaxed and easy going which to be honest I wouldn’t expect any less from Andrew as there is never any stress on a shoot with him 😊 there were also tea/coffee breaks and lots of yummy food and snack options for everyone too

I’m already seeing some fantastic shots coming out of the day, and have had fantastic feedback from everyone, so I’m very excited for our next adventure to Ireland, I know its going to be a mad one!

It was absolutely amazing to be booked n to one of Andrew’s lighting workshops last week 😊

Pre comms were excellent, I drove over the night before to Cheshire where Andrew put me up in a lovely hotel so I’d be fresh for our shoot. Andrew’s incredible wife styled me up for our first set of the day in a beautiful vintage styled gown and was a star with having accessories at the ready and it really was a beautiful set, I’m already seeing shots come out from the day and I’m so impressed!

It was a great group of people, it was so nice to see how eager people were to learn about lighting and styling, and the results really do speak for themselves 😊

Two out fits, two different locations, and several lighting set ups for both and a ton of happy faces at the end of the day ready to put what they had to in to effect as soon as they’d left, just brilliant!
