My first shoot with Alan was fantastic! To say the least. From the moment i arrived at Alans home studio he welcomed me and my partner into his home and offered us a beverage which was needed after the long drive we had, i think that was very lovely of Alan.

We had a chat to begin with to get to know one another to break the ice and some extras to how our shoot would plan out. I knew straight away that it was going to be an easy going, laid back shoot, i was quite excited to get started.

As we went on to shoot there wasent a dull moment. The shoot was filled with constant chit chat and laughter. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our shoot together and find Alan to be an absolute pleasure to work with! He is a very talented man.

I would highly recommend working with Alan and would love to work with him again ;)

..Pre comms for the shoot were great i knew exactly what to bring along and had a vision board sent over for more clarity to what we would be doing on the day.

Again it was a pleasure to work with you Alan. Cant wait for the edits! 🙂

An absolutely brilliant shoot today with Alan at his home studio. We shot with a headress he had and I sourced a big ballgown to go with it. We then moved onto some hugely creative ideas of his own. I had great fun, and I'm confident we produced some amazing work. Alan was a brilliant host, relaxed yet professional, and I hope to work with him again soon. Thanks Alan! Recommended!

Where to even start! As you can see by Alans portfolio, his talent and creativity knows no bounds. I was immediately drawn into his imaginative style, and breadth of unique shots. I was therefore extremely flattered when he reached out to book a shoot.

His pre-communication was excellent, he provided mood boards and inspirational images that we referenced throughout the process. I spammed him with outfit and accessory options and he chose appropriately so I knew exactly what I was bringing to the table, making my prep as simple as possible.

On the day of the shoot we had time factored in just to chat and get to know each other which I feel is invaluable as you then get on the same creative wavelength. At the location (the wonderful Basford Hurst Cottage) we shot through multiple looks and outfits with ease and as you can see by the results covered many themes.

Alan is lots of fun to work with, we could've chatted forever! There were lots of laughs and so much freedom to get creative. It was a true collaboration and I cannot wait to shoot together again.

Alan contacted us to book a shoot here with VictoriaLucie and needless to say we are so pleased he came to Basford!!

All pre comms with Alan were great, everything was so easy to organise and he arrived on time with everything he needed for the shoot. After a quick look around he starting shooting with Victoria and I have honestly never seen so much creativity in one shoot!!! Alan had so many unique ideas and really brought them to life here at Basford!!

We would highly recommend working with Alan, he is polite, friendly and I felt like we could've chatted for hours! In fact I think we did haha! - Welcome back anytime and we really look forward to seeing the finished edits!! Thanks Alan!!

Myself and Al did yet another fantastic shoot at his own home built studio and I couldn’t be anymore thankful of the results that came about :) the attention to detail and the time and effort he puts into any image is simply remarkable and it always excites me to see what concepts he creates from every picture. I absolutely love working with my friend here and we have already arrange another shoot next year which is no doubt be just as good as the last :) Always a pleasure and I cannot recommend enough!

Lovely shoot with Alan this past weekend. I love his style and we connected a while back but took a while until we managed a shoot, but so glad we collaborated! Alan has a great home studio set up and though we had limited time we got some great shots. He provided great direction and ensured I was comfortable. Had a fab first shoot with Alan, at his home studio. On a creative makeup beauty shoot! And what a fabulous shoot it was!!

Such an easy going photographer, very enjoyable to work with and he remained professional and respectful throughout.

He was full of fabulous creative ideas but also happy for me to pose freely and throw in my own ideas, working together to achieve the perfect shot! The time flew!! Which to me is always a good sign!

Highly recommended to any level of model! The images are fab! And I absolutely cannot wait to work with him again.

I could never tire of working with Alan... Every shoot is a supermassive dose of creativity and off-the-wall idea goodness! 😁 It’s something to really look forward to when we’ve got a shoot in the diary because it really is a case of: what will we do this time? The possibilities genuinely have to limit!!! 📷

This time: we worked at Alan’s studio space again when I kicked off a tour of the North and Scotland. ☺️ It was my first *decent length* tour for a while because of “you know what” so it meant I had a lot of prepping, last minute check-list checking and all the usual work that comes with arranging a tour. Having Alan as the first stop honestly gave me such reassurance because he’s the loveliest, most easy going person there is; he totally gets it when models are coming to shoot with him as part of an extended trip and all the planning that goes with setting creative shoots up. He’s always so well prepared at his end with moodboards and ideas - even providing outfits! The rest is a case of bouncing off each other once we’ve begun the latest marathon on madness *ahem* creating! 😜 But honestly: shoots with him always fall perfectly into place, and the images we create are so rewarding/next-level groovy! 😎

This time we tried a lot of different kind of concepts: the looks being very individual in terms of both styling and lighting. This kept us both very entertained from both sides of the camera hehe! 😃 There’s just never enough hours in the day with Alan - although it does leave ideas for next time, that’s one way to look at it! And there ALWAYS will be a next time! Anyway *THIS* time, we tried our hand at creative light portraits, atmospheric/abstract (and some what spooky!) use of props, playing with ambient light with a new gadget I’d acquired but not yet used (we nailed it!) and even more stylised setups with full blown room tricks creating an autumnal wonderland! 🤩 Now you see why it’s good fun working with Alan right? Being able to model in ideas like these just gives me so much good energy! And seeing Alan just going for it as his brain ticks away in his studio LITERALLY BUILDING entire complex sets and utilising light in the most fascinating ways... To me, this is what photography is all about! 🙌

The standard fantabulous hospitality was offered, which I imagine many of the models Alan has shot with have commented on. 😊 It’s really appreciated when you’re well looked after, offered a drink/even nibbles and just treated with the utmost of respect... I know it’s pretty basic an expectation to have mutually good etiquette, but with Alan’s ultra kind nature - he just goes that step further and cannot do enough to make models feel welcome! I can’t think of anyone who would make you feel more at ease on a shoot - he’s a genuine good egg with an enormous heart/the sweetest character... And to be honest - we have a laugh whilst we work! One thing people need more of in life is laughter and good convos. ☺️

So you’ve all probably guessed it by now - but yes. Of course I recommend this awesome gentleman. 😃 Alan rocks, and I can’t wait to see the shoot concepts he’ll rock next time! 👌

Today I had a first shoot with Al and it was really fun! :) He prepared moodboard based on both mine and his ideas. His home studio is warm, well equipped with plenty of props. He even has a smoke machine which worked fantastic with our witchy/fortune teller set with mysterious hood, unusual necklace, tarot cards, cristal ball and all! We created some awesome images with pearls, playing cards, bottle of jack daniels and a cigarette. It was really creative shoot, I really enjoyed playing different “characters “. Thank you so much for a wonderful shoot!

Today was my third time shooting with Alan. It is always a compelte pleasure to work with him. We always have a great laugh and come up with spontaenious crazy ideas that end up working so well!

I always feel so comfortbale when working with Alan and the photos we produce together are so wonderful! Always a shoot I am proud to be a part of.

I of course would reccommend Alan to anyone! He is a super person and a super photographer. What is not to like! (plus he has great taste in biscuits and makes a great cup of tea!)
