A shot of my last dog Jessie, originally a badly treated rescue dog from Ireland, taken on by one of my best friends who sadly died and left Jessie to me in her will. Jessie was great friends with my own dog and my home was home from home for her, so the blow of moving to yet another home wasn't so bad and she saw her last days out happily with me.

Technicals:

Jessie earned her keep and this shot is a test just before she modelled some veterinary head guard collars for a website and brochures. The background was actually white but the single light source 1.5 metre soft box was just behind and above Jessie's head angled forward giving the highlights on the fur and dropping the white background to black. The camera was a D300 and the lens a 24-70 at approx 70mm.
