Barely Alive - Inspirations

Below is a collection of 216 images that have been added to the Barely Alive - Inspirations collection.

This is a collection of images I find inspirational in terms of my Barely Alive project, as described in my profile.

In brief, Barely Alive is based on fine-art nude portraiture, in outdoor settings and the aim is to produce and sell a series of photobooks and art prints, with half the profit going to a selection of charities, all of which are concerned, in one way or another, with issues relating to the human body – its health and well-being, and our complex, often fraught, emotional relationship with it.

The artistic aim of Barely Alive, however, is to celebrate the idea and experience of nudity positively, as a feeling of freedom, vitality, joy and adventure.  It seems to me that all the images I've collected here convey these feelings beautifully - which is why they have captured my attention.
